My Favorite Lunches

I have been eating out a lot lately because I have no time to food prep. So I just go with the flow. If I have to eat out, I eat out.

One of my favorite places for lunch is Pho Vietz@The Starling. And the good news is that they now accept Favepay which makes payment very convenient. In addition to that, I get to enjoy a 10% cashback every time I dine there.

Lately I have been ordering the set meals. These come with a main dish, rice, soup and salad. I have ordered these set  meals before here.

This is the Braised Pork Belly in Coconut Juice set.

Something like tau yew bak, just slightly sweet due to the reduced coconut water. Very flavorful but if you are not into fatty meat, then this is wasted on you.

Just like before, I dislike the soup that comes with the meal but I love the side salad.

And then I tried the Traditional Beef Stew with Rice. You can choose to have this with baguette if you wish.

The beef stew is very, very nice. I love it.

And then there is the Sweet Potato Curry Chicken Set.

The gravy is thick and tasty though there was hardly any sweet potatoes in my serving. Maybe it disintegrated into the curry gravy.

Now let me share with you my favorite of the lot.

The Stir Fried Beef and Celery set. Awesome.

It was so good that I had it two days in a row.

There are tomato wedges inside and although I don't think tomatoes go well with this dish, I am not complaining since I am OK with tomatoes.

And of course, I still very much enjoy the vermicelli salads. This one is the Spring Roll and Lemongrass Chicken Vermicelli which I had for an early dinner on Labor Day.

I can't wait to eat this delicious beef again.

  4. Xin chào! Xin chào! This aunty is making me drool with her Pho meals. A meal for 2 could be sapu by just one! Everything looks very good except the too fatty pieces.

A Viet told me that they love very raw greens and very strong tastes like plenty of assorted mint and basil leaves. Some leaves and greens are not even available here.

  7. Ah, I must make it to Pho Vietz one of these days. Where's the celery in the stir-fried beef set? You mean those thin stem-like shreds? They look different from the celery I know...is it a different type of celery?

    1. You must! The celery is rather scant and I think they use Chinese celery as well as the Australian ones.
