Never Order Pizza at a Fish Place

One Saturday, my partner and I were at 1 Utama. We were supposed to have dinner at Isetan Eat Paradise

But when we passed by Fish & Co, my partner suggested we have fish & chips instead. Why not? We haven't been there for sometime and sure, fish & chips would be nice.

We ordered a Peach Granita to share. Aiyo...too sweet!

My partner wanted The Best Fish and Chips and on his suggestion, I got the Seafood Platter for One. I think he must have been very hungry because he also suggested a pizza, something that he does not usually eat.

His order arrived first. I could hear the crunch crunch as he cut into the fish.

And on cue, he talks about the fish and chips in England as he always does.

My seafood platter was not too bad - rice, squid rings, prawns, fish and chips.

And then the Seafood Pizza arrived.

I'm afraid this was not good. It did not taste good and the crust was not adequately baked. In fact the bottom was still raw.

So I scrapped off the filling and left the crust behind.

After dinner, to kill the taste of the pizza, I had a frozen yogurt at IlaoIlao.

My partner had some but was put off by the smell and taste of the yogurt. So I finished up the whole lot hee...hee....

  1. Restaurants shouldn't put things on the menu if they can't do it well though. But I know what you mean... we went to a restaurant specialising in pork recently and we ordered one chicken dish amongst many other pork dishes and it was a disaster.. HAHA!

  2. That fishy outlet has the slowest services since they opened their doors. I have boycotted them after few attempts making me boil to maximum. I am a very patient customer actually.

I love to eat IlaoIlao anytime and could finish the biggest orders by myself. Yummeh!

  5. After eating the delicious wood oven baked thin crust pizza from Prego, Westin Hotel, I am spoilt so I can not eat any of the pizzas from normal restaurants. I put this fish eatery in my ban list after my last visit there during May 2018 where the deep fried fish was too oily for us.

  6. Since your partner keeps harping about the (best) fish & chips he has eaten in England, I think he needs to cast a wider net than Fish & Co as I believe there are decent fish & chips to be found here...like Magnificent Fish & Chips, (some from non-fish & chips specialists) Bait, Raft, Yellow Brick Road, even Eatomo or Steaks & Lobsters (is better than Fish & Co). I remember The Yum List mentioning Botanica. Some even say Two Sons Bistro. Perhaps your partner can try one of these. Or you can also check out the list by says.com and get him to try one of those. And maybe, just maybe, you can find one that meets his approval.

P/S: What kind of pizza is topped with lettuce?! @_@

  7. You ate most of the crust, anyway. LOL!!! I would love fish and chips as long as it is not dory. Your seafood platter looks great too. Why would anyone want to waste their time and money on pizza at a place like this? :P
