Are there any poke bowl lovers out there? I believe many of you are already very familiar and fallen in love with poke bowls.
My first poke bowl experience happened almost a year ago and I must say that I loved poke bowl the moment I had my first taste.
Unfortunately, I did not go back to The Fish Bowl at 1 Utama simply because I can only visit weekends. Most weekends (Saturdays), I would have my activities at home and Sundays are reserved for grocery shopping and food prep.
The photos I am sharing here are those from my second visit back in 2017.
There are customized poke bowls which you can order (if you have no idea what to choose) or you could customize your own by ticking your selected items from the order chit.
There are various items of vegetables/carbs you can choose to complement your protein and you have a choice of two sauces (if I remember correctly). It's pretty much like a salad, only better.
My favorite protein would be the raw salmon and tuna. On that visit, I chose quinoa as my carb (because I was curious about quinoa) and marinated raw salmon. I also added crispy fish skin.
I can't remember what sauce I chose.
This poke bowl was so so good. I could eat this everyday. I am hoping that a poke bowl place would open at The Starling hah..hah...
I think one of these Fridays, I must ask my partner to take me to Paperfish@TTDI for my long overdue poke bowl fix.
Wow!, seen quite a number of young people going for this during lunch time.
ReplyDeleteThis is the in thing among the young. I would say it is quite wholesome and tasty.
DeleteFish bowl is opening a branch in Midvalley! Finally. All your bowls look so good. Do try PaperFish and let us know how it compares to Fish bowl. I went there once but it was closed so I did not get to try. :(
ReplyDeleteHoping to try Paperfish soon. I guess you would be able to visit the Midvalley Fish Bowl since I noticed you go there quite often.
DeleteAh Hong Chee, me same with you, loves raw salmon...
ReplyDeleteGood...good...

ReplyDeleteOh, that's too bad.
DeleteI have heard about poke bowls but I have never tried. Don't know if we have poke bowls in Ipoh, must ask my foodie friends.
ReplyDeleteIf there is one, you can go and try :)
DeleteI'm so outdated that never try any poke bowl >_<
ReplyDeleteHmm.... I afraid poke bowl not something ur partner fond of, hehe :P
You could be right, he might not like hah..hah...
DeleteI would love to try this Poke Bowl too... what a cute name! Reminds me of the Malak in Johor where we choose the ingredients and they cook for us but this one is different, just choose and eat... no need to wait. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen you come to KL, try lah..
DeleteI have passed PaperFish over a hundred times but I have not eaten any Poke Bowls yet. I better poke myself there soon.
