When I go to Pho Vietz@The Starling, more often than not, I would order the Vermicelli. This is some sort of noodle salad.
The default ingredients are vermicelli, raw vegetables, pickled carrots and a very nice dressing/dipping sauce. The difference between the various vermicelli dishes is the toppings.

This is the Spring Roll and Lemongrass Chicken Vermicelli.
I love the dressing but I find that it is too sweet for me.
I don't know what is the correct way to eat this. I usually pour the dressing into the salad and give it a good toss.
But I have seen other customers dip the vermicelli into the dressing. I suppose it can be enjoyed either way.
Another day I was very hungry and ordered the Vermicelli with Grilled Pork Skewers and a serving of Spring Rolls.
I love these spring rolls. Very delicious.
The grilled pork is nice but I think the serving is a bit small for me. I reckon the Spring Roll and Lemongrass Chicken is more worth it.
Pho Vietz is another restaurant that accepts credit card payment for any amount spent. Thumbs up to them and that is one of the reasons besides the good food why I visit.
Hi! If you like the noodles salad (bun cha) at Pho Vietz, please try Pho King in SS2 (behind Original Kayu Nasi Kandar). Their dressing has more subtle flavours and their grilled meats are awesome! :D
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for the recommendation. I will check it out when I am in SS2.
DeleteHaha I'm also unsure of the correct way to eat this, but I usually dip my vermicelli into the sauce. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's more dainty that way, bit I have no patience hah..hah...
DeleteI always like Vietnamese food as the dishes always come with generous portion of vegetables, quite a well-balanced meal I would say~
ReplyDeleteMe too! It's so refreshing.
DeletePho Vietz is one of our monthly makan place during lunch. I also find the dressing a bit too sweet but I like the vermicelli and the raw vegetables.
ReplyDeleteI wish that they would dial down on the sugar.
DeleteOoooo...ASEAN cuisine! I'm in...anytime!!!
ReplyDeleteHigh 5!
DeleteI don't usually order these noodle salads as the dipping sauce is too sweet for me...but without it, everything is too dry :(
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine eating it without the dressing. I do wish that they would reduce the amount of sugar.
Deleteyum yum!
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteNot so into Vietnamese cuisine but your vermicelli looked good.
ReplyDeleteI love it and some people say they don't like some of the food due to the strong smelling herbs like basil.
DeleteMe eat Vietnamese food, but not into it...
ReplyDeleteIt's one of my favorites.
Deletei think the thing i like best about vietnamese fare is the abundance of fresh, wholesome veggies - illustrated by your vermicelli bowl :D
ReplyDeleteThat's how I feel about Vietnamese food too!
DeleteNot really a fan of vietnamese food
ReplyDeleteOh, I see...
DeleteI went to eat there twice and really enjoyed their food. They seem to be serving better and tastier Vietnamese food than others. I like their grilled meat.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you enjoyed their food because I do too!
