Curiosity Kills The Cat : Beef Burger with Peanut Butter and Jelly

I'm a glutton for punishment aren't I? In spite of the insipid coffee and so so big breakfast, I came back for one more experience.

The Infamous Wessy Waffle Burger. As described on the menu - 100% Australian beef patty with beef bacon and cheese, topped with peanut butter and jelly, sandwiched between crispy waffles. I just had to see what it was all about.

After having the underwhelming Long Black (twice), I took a risk with the Cappuccino. Thankfully, it was decent.

While sipping my coffee, I noticed the servers putting together my burger.

And I was soon confronted with this.

A tall stacked up waffle burger, dripping with peanut butter and jelly. The only way to eat this is to dismantle the structure layer by layer.

The top waffle layer came off exposing three skewers that held the burger together. The waffle with peanut butter and jelly tasted all right.

What a strange meal.

There was a fried egg in there.

I ate the beef patty separately, not with the peanut butter.

The beef patty was dry and grainy.

So. kam guan. That's satisfied/puas hati in Hokkien. I'm done with this cafe. No loss to them as they have their fan base.

  2. Aren't there bananas too? The Elvis Presley sandwich - I love it so much, so very nice. Never tried it with waffles though, just bread.

    1. It would have worked with bananas and not burger and egg.

  3. I already know it's 'suicide' to order something like this based on your post title! >_< I can't imagine the overly sweet combo of peanut butter & jelly with savoury beef and cheese...and, what, an egg (with peanut butter & jelly)? Yucks. Even on my first visit here, I was aware that they're supposedly famous for their waffles but pics online deterred me as it looked more like ao overly sweet waffle mess to me! :P You've been a very good customer to even give them four chances...I bolted on my first try! >.<

  5. The combination doesn't sound good at all...especially with the egg in it. My family and I did enjoy their pastas awhile back and found it to be the closest to the Australian pastas (but this was about 2 years ago or so). They must've changed owners or cooks as all your 4 visits have been below par.

    1. You got that right. I won't try the pasta as I don't like parmesan cheese.

  6. I think have to eat it all layers together to get the taste which is quite impossible to do since it is so tall. Eat layer by layer would be just like eating the food items individually on their own.

  8. Wah! I think I will just stare at the tall messy burger before I could decide how to tackle or eat the burger! I will leave the peanut butter for the waffle but not on the burger! What a combination! At least you satisfied your curiosity!

  11. Oh my goodness! This dish is so weird and crazy like a Halloween dessert from the creepy grave yard! Yet it could attract you to try this. You must be a jolly freako lady too. Muahahahaha

The beef and peanut butter's combo put me off really...plus added jelly would help me with watery diarrhea! Wakakakaka
