Lazy To Cook : Theori Food@Damansara Uptown (Closed)

After I discovered Theori Food@Damansara Uptown, I decided to take short a break from my DIY lunch prep. Let's face it, it's always great to have food cooked and packed for you. Who wants to slave in the kitchen at 5:00am? I have my lazy streak and besides I did get a little tired of my own cooking.

For one whole week it was merdeka! woohoo! heh...heh...

So let's see what I ate.

Meal 1

Brown rice, grilled chicken breast (it turned out to be fried chicken breast, something like ayam goreng kunyit without the kunyit), Japanese cucumber, white onion, pickled radish, broccoli and chuka wakame with teriyaki and roasted sesame sauce.

Although the grilled chicken tuned out to be fried chicken, no complaints from me because it was tasty. Besides, I admit I prefer fried chicken.

Meal 2

This one looks even more gorgeous than meal 1. Brown rice, parsley grilled chicken breast, cherry tomatoes, pickled cucumber, green lettuce, carrot, purple onion with sesame soy sauce and garlic sauce.

I liked the sourish sweetish pickled cucumber but I am concerned why it is so green.

I usually don't like brown rice but I am beginning to accept it.

Meal 3

Brown rice, chuka idako, sweet corn (because edamame was not available), chucka wakame, pickled cucumber, mango, Japanese cucumber, sesame soy sauce and just for the heck of it, sesame mayo.

Meal 4

Brown rice, fried chicken drumstick (deboned), Japanese cucumber, mango, edamame, cherry tomatoes, green lettuce, green curry sauce and lemongrass sauce.

I know you can only see the chicken and green lettuce, so let me push the lettuce aside for a better view.

The fried chicken was very tasty with crispy skin, pretty much like ayam goreng berempah while the two sauces added to the yumminess.

Meal 5

Brown rice, grilled chicken breast (this time it was really grilled. Fried was better heh..heh...), carrot, broccoli, bell pepper, white onion, Japanese cucumber, sesame soy sauce and sesame mayo.

Meal 6 (the following week)

Brown rice, fried chicken drumstick, cherry tomatoes, mango, broccoli, white onion, Japanese cucumber, green curry sauce and lemongrass sauce.

I'm very happy with the food as I do not experience any ill effects like thirst, bloating or a drop in energy level, something that I get when eating at certain places.

Though I would love to eat at Theori Food everyday, cost is a consideration (though I think RM15.90 for what I had is a very fair price). I will continue to drop by once or twice a week. Why not, right?

I hope Theori Food does well as I see that they have a good thing going.

  1. Rm15.90 is ok compared to meraki which is rm18 for chicken meal boxes. I would go for chicken breast cubes grilled with bell peppers, corns, broccoli, no sauce. Let's see if I can convinced my lunch group to go eat here as we go to Starling mall quite often.

  3. Out of all the meals, I like Meals 4 & 6....coz I don't like cubed chicken breast...though I'd prefer grilled over fried chicken. Of course, when I say grilled, I won't want it to look like Meal 5 (that looked like boiled chicken, no colour at all...yikes!...at least Meal 2 looked more like grilled). The pickled you were concerned with looks more like pickled green capsicum to me. I won't mind paying RM16 for a box with so many healthy ingredients without having to prep for it if I have one near me.

    2. hee..hee... yes, early celebration! Same here, I prefer their fried chicken drumstick. Very crispy and flavorful. I have been buying food from them quite often and I love it.

  4. Woohoo! Sounds so good not to be a slave in kitchen for one whole week. I like that! But can't. Wuhuhuhu!

The meal packs looked yummy and appetizing to me, especially the fried chicken. I like brown rice but don't eat it that often.

  5. I am so greedy and I would love to eat all the meals you tae if someone treats me. If I pay, I would choose #2 and #6 instead. I think the cut tomatoes and small bits of meat appeals to me for easier eating. I think the packed food boxes were too little for you. I bet a million that you had to snack a lot after that by tea time. I am so glad I don't work near Starling or Uptown's foodie haven otherwise I would be ballooned up!
