Eggplant with Garlic Sauce

This is another dish I attempted in keeping with efforts to keep my wok hot and active! Well, my enthusiasm waxes and wanes, with me ordering in last weekend. But no matter! I am sure I will find something exciting to cook this week.

When you see Brazilian what do you think of? Brazilian Samba? Woo hoo! Or the other Brazilian.

Chargrilled Vegetables

Recently I visited Nando's at The Starling. One of the sides that I selected to go with my 1/4 peri peri chicken was chargrilled vegetables.

Mak-Kimchi : My First Attempt

hah...hah.. Suddenly I made kimchi. Proper kimchi. Not the shortcut version which I actually found very delicious. Even then, this version, called Mak-Kimchi is the simpler of the traditional ones because the napa cabbage is cut into small pieces.

Korean Inspired Marinated Kale

There was a time when I was kale crazy and then I don't know what happened and I did not eat kale after that.

Are You Korean? So I Made Kimchi

The other day while I was placing my order at Fujisawa@The Starling, the cashier finally plucked up enough courage to ask me "Are you Korean?". I get that a lot.

Korean Eggplant Banchan

This is another recipe that I tried from Maangchi and I loved it! Eggplant (or brinjal) is one of my favorite vegetables. There is one eggplant dish that I love at Chinese restaurants. I don't know what it is called. It is fried with minced pork.

Spicy Cucumber Banchan

The other day while watching some videos on Youtube, I was reminded of Maangchi when one of her videos popped up on my watch list. Hey! I love this Korean lady and there was a time when I tried her fried chicken but that was as far as I went. Fried chicken and only fried chicken.

Brussel Sprouts with Lap Cheong

When I was a child I used to read story books and once in a while I would come across brussel sprouts being mentioned. I used to wonder what are brussel sprouts.

Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Bacon

Does anybody like brussel sprouts? I have read about them and seen them on the supermarket shelves but I never made any attempt to eat them. That was until one day at Salad Atelier when I picked brussel sprouts as one of my salad ingredients.

What I Had For Dinner Last Sunday

I have been eating too many carbs lately. Yes. I had a sudden obsession with rice and ever since I revived my love of baking, I have been eating cakes. Bah!

Simple Stir Fried Broccoli with Button Mushrooms

This is a vegetable stir fry that I used to prepare early in the morning to complement my proteins. Frying vegetables in the wee hours of morning is not an ideal situation, yes?

Kale Salad

What? Kale salad again? I can't help it, it my favorite salad at the moment, my new love so to speak.

Make Ahead Salad

That would be a Marinated Salad, a salad that you can make ahead of time and store in the fridge.

My New Favorite Vege

Every time I want to make a salad, I would usually buy the pre-washed lettuce/salad greens from the supermarket. After a while, those greens became sort of boring.

Roasted Asparagus is Delicious

You know, I hardly have the chance to eat asparagus because it is so pricey. At the restaurant, forget it. At the supermarket, forget it. I can't even remember the last time I had asparagus. I know they are awesome stir fried with prawns or sambal belacan.

Dhall Gone Wrong

It is 6:25pm Sunday when I finally sit down in front of my PC to write this post (wah, posting in real time!). From the time I got home from my morning grocery run, I have been on my feet doing my epic cooking.

Fried Bittergourd with Eggs

I can't remember when I developed a liking for bittergourd. What I do remember is the first time I was impressed with a bittergourd dish that I had at a restaurant.

My Favorite One Dish Meal

One of the easiest dishes to prepare. You've got meat and vegetables in one dish and all you need is a bowl of rice. But for me, I can eat this by itself, no rice required.
