Eh, Salmon Again

I was thinking of the I Love Salmon set lunch which I had at Fujisawa Izakaya.

Well, I had to satisfy my salmon craving and decided to have that at Fujisawa Kyanpu Bar instead. See if there is any difference in taste or presentation (well, there was difference in execution as I was to discover).

Since I was early that day, I was able to sit at a proper table (and not at the bar seating).

I was seated right across from the main door.

To my left was this private area that looked rather cosy.

They even have disco lights up there and that's when I noticed that the hanging plants needed watering. They were all wilted LOL!

The I Love Salmon Set was served like this.

Notice something? This blue platter was used at the other Fujisawa to serve the Aburi Hokkaido Maki. It was rather bulky (clumsy) and I would have preferred the salmon sashimi, sushi and maki served on a simple round plate.

Now, I have something to complain. But before that, I copied my order for the Aburi Hokkaido Maki just like what I had before.

Back to my complaint. The salmon sushi/maki as well as this Aburi Hokkaido Maki fell apart when I picked them up with my chopstick.

So it was very annoying having to deal with fragile pieces of sushi/maki. I don't know what went wrong with the assembling of these two items.

So when I went to pay the bill, I described my experience to the server (who was also the cashier). I doubt if she understood. She kept saying "Oh, it's ok, it's ok".

She probably thought that I broke the chopstick when I was actually talking about how the sushi/maki broke when I picked them up with my chopstick. So I gave up. LOL!

  1. If it breaks up easily, I think the rice is not sticky enough. I love eating salmon, so delicious. Definitely annoying that the cashier can not understand your complaint 🫤

  2. Usually when we feedback to the staff about our experience with the food, most of the times they cannot be bothered to tell the chef being afraid of kena scolded etc so nowdays I also gave up. I love fish.

    1. I guess you are right. We have to tell direct to the boss if the boss is there.
