My Burger Love

Burgers are food usually associated with the young (I know my parents aren't into burgers). But old aunties like me also love burgers hee..hee..hee... And my favorite burgers come from MyBurgerLab.

Thanks to my brother for the introduction and I had my first MyBurgerLab experience here and another here. I have had a few more since then and all this time, never having to visit the restaurant, not even once.

Thanks to the Grabfood 50% HOTDEALS, it was time to again enjoy my favorite burgers. By the way, did you notice that Grabfood (up to) 50% off is now available only via Grab Unlimited? That means you have to sign up for a monthly subscription to qualify. Tsk! Double Tsk!

Anyway, these burger purchases happened last month, before the old 50% HOTDEALS promo was over.

One of my favorites is the Bait & Switch - marinated fried chicken thigh topped with cilantro, onions and paired with a tangy, slightly spicy budu mayo.

Although the packaging is much improved compared to the first time I ordered, I feel that the burger ought to be wrapped to keep it in place. As you can see, my burger bun slipped out and fell slightly apart.

Garrghhhh.... so good! I love the budu mayo. I know budu + mayo sounds very scary but I assure you it is delicious! It had hints of lime and bunga kantan, so you get the picture. Whoever invented this - you genius!

Nyummmmzzzz...........

The fries are pretty good too with the spicy dip.

Ooops I did it again! This time the Joe's Dirty Burger - cheddar topped fried chicken thigh, with crisp lettuce, baked cherry tomatoes, topped with yummy sloppy cheese joe.

It arrived in good condition.

Is that a beauty or what?

Take a bite! A big one!

The sloppy cheese joe was so darn good!

Worth every cent spent.

I splurged an extra RM1.00 for the honey mustard sauce. Both were very good with the fries.

MyBurgerLab is expensive but worth it in terms of taste and quality of ingredients (not to mention the sheer ecstasy LOL!).

I'll indulge when there are promos or when I have enough Grabpoints for discounts. By the way I signed up for the Grab Unlimited subscription, first month RM0.99 and RM7.90 thereafter), just to see if it is worth it. After all, I can cancel anytime I want.  I better make friends with Foodpanda or Shopeefood soon.

  1. The other day, the thought crossed my mind and I was thinking of having a burger.
I am not into those at the franchise places here, not nice...and I dunno of any good ones at the kampung. Some using home-made patties are pretty good, I hear.
I still have some Ramly patties in the freezer but these days, I feel so lazy.
That is why up till today, I still have not had my burger. So sad!!! LOL!!!

    1. LOL! I too am lazy when it come to making my own burgers. The thing is, those burger stalls on the roadside can whip up some really good burgers at a fraction of the price of those at restaurants.

  2. Oh, so Grab's discounts are also on the decline...aren't they all...like ShopeeFood..lol. I like to use ShopeeFood since I do my shopping on Shopee, so it's easy using the same account. Moreover, I can use up the Shopee coins I get from shopping but, best of all, delivery is practically free besides the discounts from food as well!

    1. Yup, now they even make you pay for the discounts! LOL! I am still getting the hang of it because the discounts are only applicable at certain times of the day. So complicated lah, I want back the old system. I reckon Grab is trying to shore up more revenue. Good for their competitors as I reckon some users will switch allegiance. I was scrolling ShoppeFood and noted that all the deliveries I saw seems free. I'll be sure to try it!

    1. I think it is worth it for you since you order delivery quite frequently. Yes, order a burger one of these days :) The Gorgeous Chic could be suitable for you as I feel that the size is not as big as the other burgers.

  6. I hardly took burgers when I was a kid or in my 5een. Even in my 20s. But I guess my hubby influenced me since he loves burgers like the McD and Burger King. So I grow to enjoy them. Haha. I don't mind burgers once in a while. I am still very much a rice or noodle person. Lol.

    1. Me too only eat burgers later in life because when I was younger, my parents couldn't afford to treat us to burgers. So I am making up for lost time hah..hah..
