Happy New Year! Sorry Ma I Crapped on Your Sofa

Happy New Year! Gosh. I can't believe it is now 2022. I felt like 2021 just passed me by and I didn't feel a thing. Let's be optimistic and may 2022 be a much, much, much better year, eh?

New year eve was just an ordinary day for me. To cheer myself up, I had a nice little breakfast of sourdough toast and eggs.

Then to cheer myself even more, I ordered myself a pizza (again).

This time I was very realistic. I got myself a large Super Supreme.

I ate half for lunch and half for dinner. My partner was at work and he had dinner plans. We had an early evening and thank goodness there were no loud fireworks to usher in the new year.

This morning I did not start the new year too well. I assure you it was not auspicious at all.

I came downstairs, fed my two cats and then to my horror I discovered this.

What the...... OMG...... Happy 2022 indeed.

This is the little pooper.

Seriously Belle. Seriously.

So you can imagine how upset I was as I had to clean up and disinfect.

Last night Girl decided that she wanted to become a basket case. Haiz...

My auntie sent me pictures. Not roses this time.

Figs!

I love dried figs and I have never eaten the fresh ones before.

Ah well. I hope 2022 will not be crappy for me. I am not in the habit of making new year resolutions but this year I want to be happy and to be fit and healthy (both physically and mentally). And maybe to update my blog more often. Hah!

Happy New Year everyone!

  2. OMG!!!!! Why did your cat do that? Aren't they supposed to be very clean creatures, will only do it at proper places...like a box of sand placed in the corner...or they will go out into the garden to do it, not anywhere they like? GOSHHHH!!!! You have the patience of a saint!!! If it were me, she would have been banished for good!!! Out you go!!!!

Ah well!!! Happy New Year, 2022, anyway...though I do not expect it to be any different. Now they are talking about a 4th injection!!! When is this madness going to end? It gets more and more depressing by the day!

    1. Ah..that thought did cross my mind! I reckon she has tummy upset and could get to the box fast enough.

4th injection? Oh dear dear. I am going for my booster this week.

  3. Happy and Healthy New Year to you and yours. Oh dear, is it because Belle had tummy upset? I am sure she didn't do it on purpose. Girl looks cosy in the basket. Over here, it has been raining since new year eve till now. Even though it is a wet start to the new year, it is nice and cool.

    1. What a way yo greet the new year, right? LOL! You could be right about tummy upset. I don't mind the rain as long as it happens when I am safely indoors.

  4. Happy New Year to you! Oh dear, Belle Belle you have upset your mommy. I read that if they poo elsewhere other than their litter boxes, it could mean there is something affecting them. Maybe stomach upset like Nancy says and not enough time to run to the litter box.

  8. OMG, she not only pooped on your sofa but looked like she peed there too. Cannot imagine if you didn't have any spread over your sofa! >_< Btw, how do you know it's Belle Belle's doing since you mentioned you came downstairs and found the mess? I don't understand why she would do that since she has access to her litter box in the house. On googling, it says it's either a medical problem or a behavourial issue. A few other causes mentioned is that the cat may not like scented litter or don't like a hooded one or the location of the litter box. They also recommend 3 boxes for 2 cats...and they should be put in different places (not together). There's a lot of info online you can google (perhaps this can be of help - https://www.thesprucepets.com/help-with-cat-pooping-on-rug-554023). All I can say is get ready for more of such episodes especially when the cat becomes a senior cat.

Anyway, happy (not crappy) new year to you & your partner! We all hope for a better 2022 no doubt! ;)

    1. Oh...I can tell whose poop is whose wahahahaha!!! Funny thing was, I did not smell (hence did not suspect) anything. Judging from the color of the err.. discharge and the amount of fluid, I reckon she had diarrhea and couldn't make it to the box fast enough. And then the next day (after I washed the spread and the towel underneath) she vomited on the sofa >.< >.< I had to clean up all over again!

Happy New Year to you and your family too! Though my 2022 did not start well, I hope it is not a reflection of the days to come.

    2. Sorry to be so graphic...but that's not diarrhea but soft stool. Diarrhea is a watery mess (I know coz Cookie gave me a lot of those lately!) >_< As for her vomiting, she either ate her kibbles too fast or too much (Cookie also gave me those!). Belle Belle is well on her way to becoming a senior cat...she is, after all, in her 40s in human years...lol.

    3. Oh I see... I have never seen those soft stool in the litter box but have spotted them on my car porch a few times. Oh dear, looks like we both have senior cats to take care of. Other than those episodes, I hope Cookie is doing well.

  9. Happy New Year! I love figs and I think I have little addiction to sourdough. My fave is from Smith Breads.
