After my experience with the first and second vaccination, I was quite cool about the third. This time my booster vaccination center was at Alpha International Women's Specialists Sdn Bhd which is a fertility clinic at The Strand, Kota Damansara.
Before going to the venue, must take care of stomach first.
Then it was off to The Strand with my partner who already had his jab the day before (at another location).
This is the first time my partner and I stepped foot into The Strand. We hardly ever venture out to Kota Damansara.
I did not wait too long before it was my turn. The nurse asked for my IC and filled up a form for me.
The "injection station" was right across the waiting area. The staff-in-charge just hollered out the queue numbers.
Next thing I knew, my turn was up. The jab was quick and relatively pain-free. I also had the courage to look as the needle was plunged into my arm. Then I had to go to the next station to take my vaccination card. Kautim!
I was among the last few people to get jabbed that day. We went home after that and I felt all right except for soreness at the injection site. I also felt very cold that evening and had to use two blankets, something very unusual for me.
Then the next morning.... arrghh.... I had fever, joint and muscle ache, fatigue and the worst part was I had a terrible backache. I did not have any issues with my back prior to the jab and I was quite perplexed and very upset.
It reminded me of my bad experience with slipped disc but this time around I knew how to manage the situation. I stayed home and administered cold compress 4 times that day (and continued through the weekend). It helped to relieve the pain.
As with back pain, it will only resolve with time and I am on the road to recovery.
In the meantime, my two kiddos are slowly doing what I want them to do.
I hope there won't be a 4th jab. Shudders!
What booster vaccine you took?? I took mine last month, just when kids started their school holiday. I was pretty alright in all the jab
ReplyDeleteExcept the booster was pretty strong, so my injected area was swollen and red for almost a week and itchy on and off for quite sometime. Of course, I also don't want 4th injection. Haha. I took Pfizer booster instead of Sinovac, and it could last 6 months. After 6 months, I don't know what is going to happen. Lol.
Pfizer for all three. I don't want anymore jabs after the bad side effects LOL!
DeleteRemember I had to decline the booster twice? I have decided to take it now that I am fitter like an ox. On hearing your backache and chills etc, I better take some overdose supplements and vitamins before I get the jab. Honestly I have phobia now with needles as the thoughts itself gives me goosebumps.
ReplyDeleteAll the best to you and I hope that you are OK after the booster. I am almost normal now hah..hah.. except for my back but it is much better that last week.
DeleteHopefully, your cats will not be causing you any more problems. So stressful! As if you do not have enough to do already! Nice sweet and sour, your chap fan.
ReplyDeleteThe older cat give me problem from time to time but I am managing it as best I can.
DeleteI just had my 3rd jap too. This round is better than my 1st jap, I only had soreness on arm and slightly "heaty" on the next day, but still managed to go to office to work. :)
ReplyDeleteLucky you! I was heaty even for a few days after that and then feel freezing cold at night!
Deletei just got my appointment...but when i checked MySejahtera...the details are not there! aduii!! your chapfan really a 'happy meal' to me...so colorful and sumptuous!
ReplyDeleteI hope your Mysejahtera has been updated by now.
DeleteHope you are feeling much better now. Got effect I think means your body is creating those antibodies. Very good. Please take good care. Glad that the two girls are sleeping on their beds that you got them.
ReplyDeleteI am much better now, thanks!
DeleteNot to worry PH. My 3rd injection reaction was bad as well. Unlike the 1st 2. I feel that if we got Pfizer all the way the 3rd is the worst. My aches lasted 3 days. Luckily it was the weekend for me :) You should be fine after this and yes I am not looking forward to anymore doses!
ReplyDeleteI feel comforted that I am not alone! I am all right now except that my back is still healing. Yup, no more jabs after this please! LOL!
DeleteGot my 3rd jab too (Pfizer). No reaction or adverse effects whatsoever other than a sore arm which was difficult to lift up. Next day, all's well. P/S: Wah, these girls have it really good...a specially laid out play area for them.
ReplyDeleteLucky you! My partner was the same, just sore arm and that was it! Yup, my girls need a new place tp hang out and guess what? The mats are full of holes due to Girls incessant scratching >.<
DeleteWas this jab different to your first two?
ReplyDeleteI got Pfizer all the way and the first two reactions were pretty mild.
DeleteGlad to hear you're doing fine. Take care.
