Booster Blues

Have you had your booster jab? I did mine last week via the appointment allocated by MySejahtera.

After my experience with the first and second vaccination, I was quite cool about the third. This time my booster vaccination center was at Alpha International Women's Specialists Sdn Bhd which is a fertility clinic at The Strand, Kota Damansara.

Before going to the venue, must take care of stomach first.

heh..heh..heh...

Then it was off to The Strand with my partner who already had his jab the day before (at another location).

When we got there, alamak, already got long queue. But it was not too bad.

This is the first time my partner and I stepped foot into The Strand. We hardly ever venture out to Kota Damansara.

I did not wait too long before it was my turn. The nurse asked for my IC and filled up a form for me.

Then it was a matter of waiting to be injected.

The "injection station" was right across the waiting area. The staff-in-charge just hollered out the queue numbers.

I admit I was a bit anxious by then.

Next thing I knew, my turn was up. The jab was quick and relatively pain-free. I also had the courage to look as the needle was plunged into my arm. Then I had to go to the next station to take my vaccination card. Kautim!

I was among the last few people to get jabbed that day. We went home after that and I felt all right except for soreness at the injection site. I also felt very cold that evening and had to use two blankets, something very unusual for me.

Then the next morning.... arrghh.... I had fever, joint and muscle ache, fatigue and the worst part was I had a terrible backache. I did not have any issues with my back prior to the jab and I was quite perplexed and very upset.

It reminded me of my bad experience with slipped disc but this time around I knew how to manage the situation. I stayed home and administered cold compress 4 times that day (and continued through the weekend). It helped to relieve the pain.

As with back pain, it will only resolve with time and I am on the road to recovery.

In the meantime, my two kiddos are slowly doing what I want them to do.

Belle Belle is getting cosy with the cat bed.

Girl finally settled in on their new play area (while still avoiding the cat bed).

I hope there won't be a 4th jab. Shudders!

  1. What booster vaccine you took?? I took mine last month, just when kids started their school holiday. I was pretty alright in all the jab
Except the booster was pretty strong, so my injected area was swollen and red for almost a week and itchy on and off for quite sometime. Of course, I also don't want 4th injection. Haha. I took Pfizer booster instead of Sinovac, and it could last 6 months. After 6 months, I don't know what is going to happen. Lol.

  2. Remember I had to decline the booster twice? I have decided to take it now that I am fitter like an ox. On hearing your backache and chills etc, I better take some overdose supplements and vitamins before I get the jab. Honestly I have phobia now with needles as the thoughts itself gives me goosebumps.

  6. Hope you are feeling much better now. Got effect I think means your body is creating those antibodies. Very good. Please take good care. Glad that the two girls are sleeping on their beds that you got them.

  7. Not to worry PH. My 3rd injection reaction was bad as well. Unlike the 1st 2. I feel that if we got Pfizer all the way the 3rd is the worst. My aches lasted 3 days. Luckily it was the weekend for me :) You should be fine after this and yes I am not looking forward to anymore doses!

  8. Got my 3rd jab too (Pfizer). No reaction or adverse effects whatsoever other than a sore arm which was difficult to lift up. Next day, all's well. P/S: Wah, these girls have it really good...a specially laid out play area for them.
