Romancing The Neighbor

Not me for sure as I have no business romancing anyone (except my partner kih...kih...kih...). One fine day, Belle Belle came home like this. This girl always got banyak cerita.

What the .....

Someone saw it fit to put a red ribbon around her neck.

Tsk! She had lost her collar a few weeks back. I believe someone nicked it off her (I won't be surprised if it is the same people who gave her the red ribbon).

This is not the work of my immediate neighbor for sure but I bet it is a neighbor of the neighbor. Such mischief! I don't mind them being friendly with my Belle Belle as long as they don't harm her. In fact a few days before that, Belle Belle didn't come home and I suspect she was "kidnapped" by the said people. Possibly kept her and then let her go the next day.

Anyway, as mentioned before, I set up a play area for my two cats. It does look cosy, no?

But ....

Ah Girl avoided the area like the plague, preferring to snuggle up far far away.

Same thing with Belle.

The two of them took their nap anywhere away from the play area.

Girl! That can't be comfortable.

But look at that. Both of them blissfully napping away. Naughty mommy closed the room door, so no snoozing on the bed.

Then Ah Girl realized that even in her sleep, mommy will not leave her alone.

Does she look annoyed?

So grumpy.

Some days later. Finally!

Belle Belle! You clever girl!

She eventually got herself a cosy spot.

But Ah Girl?

She still chose to curl up outside mommy's room. Haiz... I hope she eventually catches on.

Meantime, Belle Belle has the whole area to herself. And yes, I got her a new collar. Hopefully no more shenanigans from the people next next door.

  2. I hope your next, next neighbour will be good to Belle. Mommy so sayang the girls. Belle finally found the play area cosy and nice to nap on. Girl needs more convincing. Maybe she prefers the cold hard surface to nap on.

  3. Hhmmmm, the neighbour's neighbour sure doesn't know much about cats. Quite dangerous to just staple a ribbon round their neck. Hhhmmm, now I am worried for Belle Belle. *Sigh*

    2. Ya, so terrible. Hope Belle Belle doesn't go over to their house anymore.

  4. Usually hard to get close and catch a cat unless the neighbour feeds her and she got used to their presence. Geez, hope no collar issue after this.

Nice nap place for the girls. So comfy.

    1. Belle Belle is friendly and is easy to approach. That's how it was when I first met her.

  5. Put a tag on Belle that says, "Hands off please, this is MY cat."

  6. Oh dear, you've got terrible neighbours. Why would they want to do that? Next time, just put on a cheap collar for Belle Belle. Aiyoh, why Belle so easy one...simply let people touch. They must have enticed her with food. Even the stray kittens (who now considers a neighbour's home as theirs coz he feeds them) won't let me touch even though they come every morning to my house for handouts. Haha, my Cookie (according to my next door neighbour) very sombong one...see no touch...lol! :D But if they indeed did 'kidnap' Belle, that's too much lah. Wait till she craps on their sofa...padan muka! Wuahahahahaha!!

    1. I was quite appalled by these people. Tsk! Belle Belle is very approachable and that was what she was like when I first met her. I find that it is not that easy to approach cats, even those domesticated ones. They tend to be wary unless you take time to know them and of course by enticing them with food. Your Cookie is good lah, don't allow anyone to touch hah..hah.. That will keep him safe from bad people. Yeah, I was sort of hoping Belle might vomit/crap in their house LOL!

  7. I was stunned and speechless seeing the red collar. It might be cute and funny at first but it might be worrying if the good intentions are opposite. I have been debating about keeping a dog or cat if I outlive my wife someday but the fear of losing pets is something I might not overcome as I still miss my sister's Persian Cat which died long time ago. Then my neighbourhood's community FB have been sharing stories about their cats probably having few "masters" along the streets because their cats often went for staycation elsewhere and came back very dirty or smelled different shampoos or even got their fur trimmed!! So that gave me an idea to tumpang other cats in future. This idea is selfish! LOLOL

    1. Fortunately, Belle Belle has been home early for the past week or so. I suspect those people are either on holiday or they have gotten tired of messing around with her. It is so true that if our pet dies, we will be very saddened. I cried buckets when I lost my pet dog long, long ago. Cats I think are easier to maintain and I find myself very much a cat person, though I also find dogs to be super adorable. My partner read that cats are not loyal. They are willing to go to anyone who shower them with attention and of course who offer them food. I think it also depends on the cat's personality. Maybe Belle Belle in the past had been moving from home to home. Touch wood, she does not go astray again. Girl is very good, she always comes home to mommy!
