Covid-19 MCO : Day #66 (My Friday Sushi Fix)

Are there any sushi fans out there? When was the last time you had sushi? For me it felt like 100 years ago.

So when I read about the sushi delivery on Ninja Housewife, I PM the lady of the house on FB and she gave me Vivian's contact. Apa lagi? Order lah!! hah...hah...

This is the menu. To order contact Vivian at 017 327 6112.

The price is friendly. And so is Vivian. I put in an order yesterday for hmmm...let's see what did I order...

1. Chicken Mayo (4)
2. Tuna Mayo (4)
3. Chuka Idako (4)
4. Fresh Salmon (5)
5. Salmon Mentai (5)
6. Deep Fry Salmon Flake Inari (5)
7. Unagi (4)

All together 31 pieces (you one person can finish, ah?) which cost me RM54.50. Delivery is RM6.00 within Klang Valley and for PJ area it is free for orders above RM30.00.

Judging from how many plates I clock up at those sushi conveyor belt places (and the pengsan-inducing bill once the plates are counted), I can eat many sushi. But of course lah not 31 pieces in one shot.

Vivian delivered my goodies on the dot. Very punctual. I love punctual people.

Three boxes, all beautifully and neatly packed and wrapped in cling wrap.

Oh..oh...

My cat went berserk when I opened the boxes of sushi. Like ape shit berserk. Girl! Why you like that???

oh..ho...ho...ho.... Fresh Salmon and Salmon Mentai. This one confirmed my favorite.

Chuka Idako, Chicken Mayo (or is it Tuna Mayo? They look alike) and Unagi

More mayo stuff, the odd Unagi and Deep Fry Salmon Flake Inari (this inari order obviously influenced by Ninja Housewife).

And yes, I agree the Deep Fry Salmon Flake Inari is very tasty but the flakes are a bit gritty, so if you have weak teeth you might not love this. They could possibly be better if eaten freshly made, but this being delivery, it can't be helped.

No, I did not eat out of the box. Must make it a nice experience.

These two - the Fresh Salmon and Salmon Mentai - no need to say, they are my favorites at any Japanese restaurant.

Of these four, my new favorite is the Deep Fry Salmon Flake Inari. The Chicken Mayo, Chuka Idako and Unagi were all right.

I did some googling and learnt that these sushi by Yamesushi Express are sold at their outlets at LRT stations.

Oh dear. How to deal with this one? I had to share some with her.

I gave her two Unagi sushi. I made sure to break the sushi up and mix the fish and rice so that she doesn't just wallop the fish.

Oh, the sushi came with a sweet handwritten note too.

On my next order I will stick to Fresh SalmonSalmon Mentai and my new favorite and perhaps try a few different ones.

That was a lovely Friday lunch and yes, for dinner too because I kept the balance of the sushi in the fridge. My strategy was buy a mix of raw and cooked, eat the raw ones first and keep the cooked ones for later.

For the price charged, you will be happy not to expect the same experience as you would when dining at Japanese restaurants. For me I am pleased with this home delivery and it satisfied my sushi craving!

Lunch : Me eat 18 pieces, cat eat 2 pieces
Dinner : Me at 11 pieces, keep the cat outside

  1. what lovely prices - would definitely be in the RM100-plus range if ordered from a regular store for delivery :) i can see the cat has good taste in food too, so you're the perfect match for this kitty! next round you have to estimate what to order extra for her as well :D

  2. Wah, long time I didn't eat any sushi. These sushi prices are really good. Three boxes, not that many la. I imagine you could eat 31 pieces at one sitting if you wanted to.

  3. Your caption for Girl Girl is spot on as always. I can hear her go ma, I want, I want. Why not give her salmon instead of the most expensive unagi?

    1. I wasn't too sure if it is OK to give her raw fish.

  4. You are so generous to give her the most expensive unagi. Not just one piece but two pieces. Did she finish eating all including the rice?

  7. If I didn't have a Sushi Mentai outlet in my neighbourhood, I'd be very tempted by the sushi lady's price-friendly sushi (though Sushi Mentai's prices are even friendlier)...but I can see that her sushi is plump! ;) And thanks for taking the effort to present the sushi in Japanese-looking plates to make it look even more tempting. For me, I'd probably eat the cooked ones first coz raw ones keep well chilled and retain its flavour. P/S: I like your dinner moto...keep the cat outside..lol! :D

  8. The last time I had sushi was in March. During MCO, where my man went to buy from a supermarket. Yum. Yum. I miss sushi!!

    1. Now that you mentioned, I could actually pick up from Aeon when I go grocery shopping!

  9. The prices are cheap and everything looks delicious.

I often bought just a tray from AEON when they slash prices like 30-50% discount! My wife doesn't eat sushi as she is allergic to nearly all seafood. She even kept telling me about the tiny invisible worms in the raw sushi. Muahahahaha

You have reached the stage when you & your cat could talk & bargain now. All cats have same pattern and language.

    1. I have also watched those videos showing worms in raw salmon >.< But I still eat hah..hah.. The ones at Aeon are not bad. In fact I had my first taste of sushi at Aeon.

I am still negotiating with my cat to leave my sofa alone!
