It was back to work after the long Christmas weekend. Bah! How I wish I could take a few more days off. But hey, this weekend is another long weekend. Yay!

Dragon-i@1-Utama
It has been ages since my partner and I visited Dragon-i. It is not my favorite place for Chinese food because I find the food too mild for my taste. What? Am I that fussy? hee..hee..

Cookie Brownies
This I would say this is the Cookie Dough Cheesecake Bar equivalent for a brownie. It's amazing the variety of brownies I found while blogstalking. My latest discovery is A Pinch of Yum and I go there and oogle at the beautiful food photography. And then I get hungry.

Gluten-Free Oven Fried Chicken
Quite a while back, I watched an episode of Hemsley & Hemsley : Healthy & Delicious where the Hemsley girls made oven fried chicken. What's interesting about their oven fried chicken (called Pablo's Chicken after the boyfriend of a cousin) is that the chicken is coated with ground almonds instead of flour.

Low Carbing At That Freakshake Place
Update : Patissez@Damansara Uptown has closed down.
Ignore that photo. That's obviously not low carb food. But is it possible to low carb at Patissez@Damansara Uptown? A place where the Freakshakes will shake your resolve? Well, let me show you.

Beef Ragu with Spaghetti
I love pasta. Spaghetti, fettuccini, macaroni, whatever. My first ever spaghetti experience was my mum's spaghetti with meat sauce which I attempted here.

Chicken Nuggets
Yes, I have made this before but I did not put up a recipe because it was kind of experimental at the time. Since I loved it so much, I had to make it again.

Grrrrr....
I found a capsicum plant in my garden. No, I did not intentionally plant it. It just grew out of the garden compost. Two flowers bloomed and it showed promise of supplying me with 2 capsicums.

BBQ Flavored Chips
I've been doing a spot of gardening during the weekends and was reminded of how gardening has brought such great joy to my life. As I was clearing the dried leaves outside my door, it felt like just recently that I was scrambling like mad to get the house cleaned up in time for Chinese New Year. Guess what?

Grandma's Garlic and Salt Chicken
This is probably the most dull and ordinary looking dish. After all it's just chicken, garlic and salt. I fried those whole cloves of garlic just to sex it up a bit. Hah!

Mad Cooking 6 : Paella Bodo
It's been a while since I did some experiments with not so favorable results. Those cooking disasters or dishes that bombed will not be wasted and they make it to my Mad Cooking Hall of Fame. So welcome to my latest edition of Mad Cooking. Episode 6.

Acar Bendi (Ladies Finger Acar)
Do you like ladies fingers (okra)? I know that some people do not like it because it is slimy. But me? I have always loved ladies fingers. My mum and my grandma usually boil the ladies fingers and then we eat them with sambal belacan.

Roasted Chicken With Sausages and Vegetables
When I saw this dish on Food Wishes I was immediately attracted simply because the dish looked so pretty. What attracted me even more was the idea of including sausages, peppers and potatoes into the baking pan.

My camera died on me when I was ready to snap some pics of these brownies. The tell tale signs were there for some weeks already. The "replace battery" sign kept coming on even though the batteries were new.

I was looking for something in the fridge and I noted that my fridge is overcrowded. So many bottles and containers of this and that taking up so much space. That made retrieving or looking for anything from the fridge rather cumbersome.

Every now and then, some Chinese bloggers who blog in English will suddenly blog in Mandarin for reasons unknown. And I can't read a dang thing. So today, just for the fun of it, I am doing the same thing. Not in Mandarin of course, that's foreign to me. So.

The Next Best Thing
It was Friday night. Our date night. We have since stopped visiting my favorite place. I feel kind of sad. Not for me but for the restaurant. The last time we were there, I didn't enjoy the food. I guess it is tough to be consistent when the chef can't be there 100% of the time.
