Low Carbing At That Freakshake Place

Update : Patissez@Damansara Uptown has closed down.

Ignore that photo. That's obviously not low carb food. But is it possible to low carb at Patissez@Damansara Uptown? A place where the Freakshakes will shake your resolve? Well, let me show you.

After the demise of Ampersand, I think I may have found my new favorite restaurant. So I go there every now and then on my cheat days.

What I am going to show you today are my two non-cheat day meals. And yes, it is possible to go low carb at Patissez, though not recommended (for me) as you can see why below.

First up, the Crispy Skin Seabass.

This set me back RM29.68.
Two small pieces of seabass served with vegetables and orange wedges. I was not really into the orange wedges and orangey flavor.

It's a modest serving, so it's perfect if you are into portion control or a small eater.

On another day, I had the Grilled Aussie Steak.

I'm afraid at RM41.34 this is not money well spent.

As you can see, it is a very small serving and so very bare save for the tiny roasted garlic and chimichurri. It should be renamed "The Minimalist Steak".

The meat was well seasoned but it was on the dry and tough side. Maybe that's just my luck.

What I liked was the roasted garlic. The chimichurri? No comments.

My drink of choice on both occasions, the Americano because it's black coffee without sugar.

Those two low-carb options are not my favorites. Let me you what you should eat when you come here.

RM33.92 worth every Ringgit.

The Freak Burger. It so happened that it was cheat day when my brother and I revisited together. We both ordered the same thing so that we won't envy each other's plate. Hah!

Double beef patties with chicken bacon (which surprisingly tasted rather good) and all the fixings and a generous serving of fries. And I love that mayo dip.

RM24.38. I can't wait for my next cheat day to have this.

That's not mine. Really. I had the Milo instead.

RM15.90

Messy looking but delicious, though too sweet for me.

Another thing you must check out is the Spicy Chicken Burger which I had on an earlier visit.

Can't remember the price.

So. Conclusion. I won't low carb here again. I will only visit on cheat days 😋

  1. Hahahaha you sounded like RG in this post. Really I didn't eat this I ate that. Maybe I should also copy you both as in "Really it wasn't me who wrote those comments, it was an evil cheeky imp who use my ACC." LOL! Seriously those two low carb meals you had are way too costly for me though they do suit me as a small eater. I believe you although you sounded like RG. You drank the Milo because you had the pretzel shake before. Will take your advice and order the burger to share since the portion is too much for me alone when I eat here next time. Have a good long Christmas holiday weekend! I hope you won't go back to your office to work this weekend. You deserve a good rest at home and please don't go and fry any ngaku chips. :)

    1. Those were too costly for me too and frankly not worth it. The burgers though were a different story (but not low carb hah..hah...)

Don't worry, I won't be working this weekend. And good heavens, no, no more ngaku chips! Merry Christmas to you, Mun!

  5. Oh my!!! Not cheap at all, this place. Over RM30 for a burger! *faints* Can't say their presentation is all that great either. At those prices, I certainly would expect a lot nicer.

    1. Nope, not cheap that's for sure. The burger, I don't mind the price because it was good and the portion was big. As for the rest, I would give it a miss.

  6. I love that sinfully sedap burger costing RM33.92!! I would pay for that yummilicious burger and sink my teeth inside with cheese oozing down my chin. Oh My Gawd!!! You are driving me nuts as I have not eaten my lunch yet at 3.30pm.

  8. I actually enjoy fish with a citrusy sauce but maybe this one you had probably had too much orangey sauce in relation to the size of the seabass...hehe! >.< Hmmm, as for the minimalist steak, I can understand why it was dry and tough for you coz it's almost well done. But the freak burger...did you say double beef patty + chicken bacon...mmm, well worth the price (more so if it makes you happy on a cheat day)! ;) What milo is that at RM15.90?...kekeke! A really special one, I hope...wahahahaha! :D

Enjoy the holidays...and Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you and loved ones, PH :)

    1. Yes, that Freak Burger was the right size for me hee..hee... The Milo, well....I suppose they justified the price with melted chocolate pasted all over the inside of the glass. It was good but too sweet.

Enjoy your holidays too, Kris. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your loved ones too!
