What's New At The Starling?

Well, now that my dad is at home, I don't have to make daily trips to the hospital. 

Today after clearing off whatever work I had to do, I went to The Starling for my mall walk. Yes, mall walking is a thing. I make it a point to walk everyday for at least 30-40 minutes. Must keep my legs strong! At the same time I can cuci mata and report back on the new developments at the mall.

There are many little kiosks at the mall selling all sorts of things. This one is called Cream.

They sell all these nyummy...nyummy...pastries that I now choose not to eat. You bet in the past I would be the first in line to try something from here.

They also have a spin wheel (maybe if you buy above a certain amount) for you to try your luck at winning something.

The escalators at The Starling are out of order quite frequently and today was no exception. That's when I noticed that Miniso was closed.

I saw people inside moving stuff.

Are they redecorating or closing down? 

On the third floor, something caught my eye. The space next door to Teochew Lor is going to be occupied soon. That was where the horrendous Nene Chicken used to be.

Apparently this is a China franchise - Fish With You. Hmm...interesting.

I don't know about you but I don't like the China cooking style.

There was a Chinese restaurant run by China nationals in Damansara Utama. I can't remember the name. It was at the shop lot next door to the now closed Salad Bar.

I remember the location because the Indian guy working at the Salad Bar was romancing the Indon girl working for this Chinese restaurant hah..hah... got gossip pulak!

So anyway, my partner and I went for dinner there one evening. I don't think I even blogged about it or maybe that was way before I started blogging.

Suffice to say, we did not like what we had. One of the chicken dishes had so much red chilies, we were astounded. So we never returned and within less than a year, the restaurant folded.

Looking at these red chilies reminded me of that ill fated restaurant. 

Nine Dragon Char Chan Teng continues to do well in spite of the dismal 3.7 star review on Google.

People continue to queue to get in.

Meanwhile at the food court, Jia Bao Bak Kut Teh has shut down. I am not surprised at all as their food was terrible. They were inconsistent with their quality control and that's what you get when you mess up. Customers will not come back.

Pho Real is still going strong. I tell you, their pho is better than the one at Pho Vietz. Even the leng chai at Red Kettle told me so.

Aiks! Toy World sudah tutup shop!

See I told you. Kids these days don't play with toys anymore. They play games on the phone or computer. Even these kiddie rides tak laku anymore.

So what have we here?

No. 1 Japanese drugstore, eh?

For as long as the populace continue to be sick and rely on prescription medications, the pharmaceutical industry will continue to thrive and earn billions. I am determined not to give them any of my money.

Ah well, another alternative for the Damansara Uptown folks to get their meds.
