Guess Who Came To Lunch?

Yesterday I had a special guest to lunch. I had also invited my brother to join us but unfortunately he had a meeting that day.

The meeting place - Red Kettle, my favorite at The Starling. My guest said that he could not eat much as the portion sizes are too generous for him. So I suggested choosing something from the Light Bites section - the Chicken Karaage that I enjoyed so much.

For me, being a carnivore and not wanting to be so auntie and take out my container (to put away carbs for my partner heh..heh...), I had my favorite Oyster Blade Steak

Is that not beautiful? Before I dug in, I offered my special guest to try some of the gorgeous beef. He took one slice and declared that it was very nice and that he would order that next time.

My default drink is always the excellent Flat White while my guest had a mug of hot water.

So who was my special guest?

Many of you may know him without me saying his name. He is a very nice person, down to earth, easy to talk to and as you all know, very humorous and entertaining.

At the end of the meal, he even went to tell the leng chai manager that I am a VIP customer and that I should be given a deep discount. Adoi! So shy lah!

So I ended up with these on the house hah..hah..hah..

I offered these to my special guest but he was so modest and refused to accept. Give them to your mummy and daddy, he implored! That was very kind.

I have eaten these egg tarts before and they have a cheesy taste. Both my parents are cheese averse and therefore aren't able to appreciate these egg tarts. So I brought the pastries back for my partner.

Many thanks TM for meeting me and for the advise you have given me. It has been very enlightening and I enjoyed your company and chit chat. You are full of amazing stories! And I wish you well as always.

Back home later it was dinner time. Something I put together on Sunday - minced beef + eggs + sausages + cheese + red/green peppers. I reheated the leftovers and the oven setting was too hot.

So the top was a bit burnt but this thing was still tasty. This is what it looked like when it was freshly baked out of the oven last weekend.

I will blog about it another time.

On Monday this was my dinner - pork soup with three eggs added.

This morning, Kittie Kat and her cher cher Girl was hanging out together at the car porch.

Girl is not hostile towards the little girl anymore but Belle Belle is still behaving like a wicked step sister. Haiz!

  2. Nice of TM to catch up with you. Must be a great meeting with him. Read and follow his blog; good to see he is in good health.

Your steak sure looked beautiful. I would want that as well. And the cheesy tarts. Hehe.

  3. Ah, is he still in the bereavement business? If yes, does he offer discounts to special customers?

    1. As far as I know, the agents give the same as what is advertised on the website.

    2. Ok, I guess it depends on agents. My cousin gave up some commission to offer a discount to her special customers many years ago. Not sure about now.

  4. What a wonderful surprise to get honourable mentions in this post. I am just a very transparent person with everyone I know. The Gang of 8 Bloggers I mentioned regarded me as a clown. I enjoyed meeting up with you after years of guessing your looks from your smooth feet in Selipar Jepun at Ritz Carlton Hotel. As I mentioned that your photos resembled many Japanese ladies in Japan. I was correct and could spot you from 1 mile away.

I will go back to Red Kettle and give him your blog post URL as he was busy yesterday. He actually requested for it. So my next target is Donald!! I have been dying to eat ducks that feed on ganja, turning you into an addict.

Thank you very much for the lunch!

    1. He is exactly the same as the person that he is on his blog. Oh, I thought you met him before. In fact you know him longer than I do since the SK blogging days. If you ever come this way, look me up, I will take you to Red Kettle.

  6. When I first saw the post title in my side bar, my first instinct was that another kitty came waltzing by which you fed. As soon as I clicked in and saw the first photo, I realised it wasn't something...but someone....and my first guess was TM...and I was right too (like choiyen). There were subtle hints in your writings and his comments...lol. I'm sure you had a lovely "makan date" and he would be humorous and entertaining as we all know he can be. P/S: Did you buy a new toy again...a small airfryer oven? I've not seen this gadget before in your posts (you usually use the National oven, same as mine, right?). Oh, you've given me an idea...I never thought of cracking an egg into my soup when it's reheating/steaming....hehe! ;)

    1. Turned out to be a big kittty, meow! LOL! Yes, he is a good decent person and we had a good chat. Ah, that oven I did mention it in an earlier post, you must have forgotten. It's a Pensonic air fryer oven which I couldn't resist buying when it was on offer.

So when are you having lunch with me? wahahahaha!!!
