Dietary Intervention for Healing

I don't have anything new to share today, so I thought I would share some health information.

As you all know I am implementing fasting into my lifestyle and I  like One Meal A Day (OMAD) or a short 24 hour fast. I am trying to do longer fasts like 32-42 hour fasts but it is very challenging. So far I am only successful twice. It takes time to build up the fasting muscle.

I also believe in the health benefits of fasting especially in the healing of metabolic disease.

In addition to medical treatment, we can implement fasting and nutritional intervention as an adjunct to healing.

I am sharing a video here on a stage 3 colon cancer patient who healed by going on a ketogenic diet and implementing fasting as part of his healing. It may sound very difficult but when your life is hanging on a thread, it is worth trying alternative solutions.

I know that I would.

  2. Thanks Phong Hong for sharing this information. I am working on improving my fasting because I like to eat desserts too much to give them up so have to use fasting to reach a balance.

    1. You are welcome! I am trying to make myself more robust so that I can age well without becoming weak or dependent on medication.

    2. My maternal grandmother is 107+ and she has aged well so she is still here with us but at such an advanced age, all her old children have no choice but to place her in a home as she broke her hip recently because she rolled off her bed when sleeping and need constant medical care.

    3. Wow! Your grandma is very long lived, bless her! With old folks it is always the fear that they fall and break their bones. I hope that all is well at the home.

    4. So far so good. She has been in the home for 2 to 3 years now. Caught COVID while in the home and recovered.

  3. Perhaps I should start fasting as well, all the more reason to do so as it is the Season of Lent.
