Basically the carnivore diet, also known as the ultimate elimination diet, eliminates everything else (carbohydrates, plant toxins/antinutrients, fiber which can irritate the bowels etc.) except animal proteins and fats.
This elimination removes food that you might be sensitive to or harmful to you (not everyone responds the same way towards the same foods) and therefore you can heal and resolve your health issues.
Elimination of carbohydrates and sugars have been shown to be effective in reversing type 2 diabetes and also helps to resolve carb/sugar addiction.
So this meat based diet is not in itself the cure but it is a tool to assist in healing because you are not consuming anything else and also because animal protein and fats are densely nutritious.

Yes, I have been told to eat more protein but not red meat.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to say that your doctor has got it all wrong. It has been shown in more recent research that there is no causality between red meat consumption and heart disease.
