Aroi Mak Mak Becomes A Mess - When You Fail To Follow Instructions

Not too long ago, I spotted a box of Frozen Mochi Cream at Aeon. I was hankering for mochi actually but none were to be found.

So I thought this Frozen Mochi Cream might be nice for my Sunday evening munchies. When I got home I chucked it in the freezer.

After dinner, I took the box out to the fridge thinking that I ought to let it defrost a little bit as it might be too hard.

There were 5 flavors - durian, mango, Thai tea, green tea and black sesame.

Each mochi was individually wrapped.

I must have left them in the fridge too long as there was liquids seeping out of the mochi.

Yup, the cream inside already melted. I had a taste and my God, it was SO SO sweet! Then I bit the mochi skin. Ugh! It was dry and awful.

So you can guess what happened to the mochi. What was supposed to be aroi mak mak (delicious in Thai), became such a mess. My bad.

Last Saturday's nasi kerabu ayam percik. I mistook the sambal tumis for percik sauce. Tsk! The percik sauce was actually in a tub underneath the chicken. Something is wrong with me.

My partner bought me a burger from Brader John Burger on our way home. By the time we got home and by the time I settled my two cats' dinner, the burger was a mess.

I hurriedly too a photo and afterwards realized the burger was upside down. Ya, memang, something is wrong with me.

My partner got double patties for me, cost him RM16.00.

Today's lunch. Chipotle Chicken Poke Bowl. The chipotle sauce tastes like curry sauce and the edamame, seaweed and seaweed salad doesn't suite the Mexican theme.

Hope I have a better weekend. Haiz...

  1. I am speechless to see the mochi and tried to figure out what went wrong. It became Mai Aroi Mak Mak.... Wakakakaka

I think the planets didn't align and many earthlings were blurr lately. That includes me for driving across the boom gate at the security post. Luckily no damage but my wife was shocked like hell that I was blurr like sotong.

  2. Looking at your mochi, I am tempted to eat mochi ice cream. Mochi ice cream that I bought before luckily didn't have a hard skin. Your burger with double patties look really good. Now I am thinking of getting a burgerlab burger for myself tomorrow. I must be feeling hungry now.

    1. I prefer ordinary mochi with fillings like crushed peanuts or sesame paste.

    1. That burger was not bad except for the messy sauce.

  4. i would try to avoid frozen mochi coz it tends to be hard and dry...i had previously encountered with tong yuen (glutinous rice flour ball) hardened after putting into the fridge for some time, terrible texture like eating rocks. Your burger looks premium with double patties! With the messiness and fully covered with sauces, i would have took the picture upside down too.
