A Meal in a Bowl

There is something so appealing about a bowl of food, don't you think? Or am I influenced by those meals served at swanky eateries that makes food served in a bowl so attractive.

To plate, or rather, bowl yourself a meal like that, you'll need a few components. Like grilled chicken, blanched broccoli, omelette, roasted pumpkin.....

... roasted tomatoes....

....... roasted capsicum and..........

.... cauliflower fried "rice". Just mix and match.

A bit of this and a bit of that.

And you'll have a bowl filled to the brim.

Nice to eat in front of the TV.

But so tiring lah preparing food like this. That's why I have resorted to eating out lately. Bitten by the lazy bug!

  3. You are right, there is something attractive in food served in a bowl full of ingredients!

I love all the ingredients you put in your bowl of "rice".

And yes it takes a lot of efforts to cook so I am lazy to cook myself too plus I have no talent in cooking :P

    1. I think everyone has a potential to be a good cook if they tried :) I agree with you that it takes effort...and lots of washing up hah..hah...

  4. My late dad would frown on anything served in one plate. Even at those chap fan places, he would insist on everything served in separate plates and bowls. I've got my eyes on your roast chicken - nice looking skin.

    1. I know of some people from the older generation who are like your late dad. They refer to food served like that as pig swill wahahaha!!

  5. Your homecooked meal-in-a-bowl looks so very delicious! Much better than those served in eateries. Cooking and cleaning up is tiring for me so I definitely agree with you that it is tiring and much easier to eat out though the food will not be as tasty. But if compare with cooking rendang and sambal which you are an expert in, I believe cooking this way is easier than cooking rendang and sambal, right?

    1. Oh, thanks hee..hee.. Rendang and sambal of course takes a lot of time and effort. That's why I don't cook it often. I've been lazy lately. I only cook for my partner but not myself.

  6. I think because your lovely bowl of food has so many different components (at least six), it's tiring to make...especially the cauliflower rice. If me, I'll make this for one and just put all the components into one tray to bake...and minus the cauliflower rice for sure (that's the most time consuming to make). ^_

  7. I looked inside your treasure bowl several times to see your interesting loot. It is very innovative of you to add almost anything edible yet they taste good like a hearty snack.
