Saturday was the 5th day of Chinese New Year and my brother and I had lunch with mum at Yan Wo Seafood, Aman Suria.
It has been a long time since we visited this restaurant. Our previous visits were here, here, here and here.
This being the festive period, the menu was compacted but we still had enough choices to choose from.
First dish is the Thick Soy Sauce Prawns (S). My brother initially ordered M size but the server was adamant that S is adequate to feed three.
With benefit of hindsight, my brother felt that we should have insisted on M LOL! Knowing us, we could have handled a bigger portion.
My brother said that this was the best dish as it was really tasty and the shells were edible. The prawns were super fresh too.
We ordered Stir Fried Kailan but that dish was unavailable (we were informed subsequent to placing our order). So we settled for this Dried Shrimp Cabbage (M). It is a very humble dish but I thought it was very tasty.
Next dish was the Four Heavenly Kings (M), a popular vegetable dish of brinjal, long beans, ladies fingers and petai (stink beans).
Last dish was the Yam Ring with Guinness Stout Ribs (S). Also a very tasty dish, though the ribs could have been a bit more tender.
After sending mum home, my brother went on his way while I saw to it that mum was settled in before I walked back to the office.
On the way, I was naughty.
With my last carb indulgence, I closed my eating window at 1.00 pm. It is time to go back to my usual way of eating before the negative consequences rear its ugly head.
Well, that's it! As far as I am concerned, Chinese New Year is over.
This is so true for us pet owners!

Dear friend, so true about the anxiety level when one loses a furry friend!!! (or feathery friend in my case with my zebra finch) LOL!
ReplyDeleteThe restaurant looks bright and cheerful, and the dishes look very tasty!
