Ooohhh ..... Cow Fat!

Sunday as usual my partner and I went to Aeon for our grocery run.

These are veggies traditionally served during Chinese New Year.

Before I snapped this phot0, there was a group of aunties behind this veggie station. They were chatting animatedly and picking up stuff in a frenzy. So I waited patiently until they dispersed.

Ah! So this is the exciting commodity.

Those aunties walked away with big bags of these ngaku.

In English they are known as Arrow Head (or Arrowhead). These are so so delicious and addictive when sliced and deep fried like potato chips.

Yes, in the past I invested some money and time on these tubers.

I have posted my ngaku exploits hereherehere and here. No more! LOL!

There was even this card with information about ngaku and how to make ngaku chips. Well, good luck to all of you who are sweating in the kitchen making these chips.

And then I saw something more up my alley.

Meat! Fresh local beef. That's great, Aeon. I told you nobody would but those Wagyu and Organic Beef that you decided to sell instead of affordable beef (trimmings).

And I found this.

Yes!

Local Lemak. Fatty Beef Trimmings. Aeon used to sell these in the past until some smart aleck decided to sell premium beef instead.

I seasoned the beef trimmings with curry power, garlic powder and salt. Then I air fried the whole lot in the air fryer.

Meanwhile, I also cooked omelette with minced beef.

This was for lunch.

The beef trimmings turned out beautifully.

I ate a few pieces. So good! Then I put them away in the fridge for the next day (since they were not in my meal plan).

This was my epic dinner. Some rice (at the bottom), pork, omelette, chonggak kimchi and cabbage kimchi. I was so stuffed LOL! Dinner was done by 5:00pm.

  1. Good morning 🌞
I hope that they continue to sell local lemak so that the customers will benefit from it.

  2. Dear friend, I love the quotations you always share! Your photos are wonderful, as always! Your meals look very tasty! And I love how you put a cat image over the face of someone in your photo to protect their identity. I don't know how to do this....yet. I think it is a great idea! Thank you so much for all you share!
In response to your kind comment on my blog post, I too am shocked that people have resorted to violence in their anger! It's really a shame! While it is fine to express our anger verbally (hopefully in a constructive manner), it is not okay to threaten, spit on someone or strike them. Montreal is a big city and I am sure other large cities can have these issues, not just with assaulting bus drivers, but anyone. It is never okay to use violence and violence never solves anything.
Thank you so much for your visits and kind comments on my blog posts, dear friend, and I also appreciate all you share on your blog.
I hope you are having a great week!
