A Feast, A Fast and A Blood Test

I was going for a blood test at the end of January. I know of people who are careful what they eat before a blood test.

It's just like before the cleaners come to the house, the home owner tidies up first to give the cleaners a good impression.

The day before the blood test I ate this. I eat lots of meat anyway, so this was not unusual.

Smoked Beef Short Ribs, Beef Flap Meat and Lamb Chops. Cholesterol!

My only complaint was that the garlic was not roasted until soft.

The lamb chops were gorgeous. Same complaint about the garlic. I don't know what the green stuff is (it's not mint). I tried it and did not like it.

The usual condiments and sides.

I did not eat these fishcake slices.

I love the spring onion salad.

This is the ice kimchi. After this feast of a lunch, I closed my eating window.

Then the next morning I went to Pathlab. Wednesday I collected my test results.

Here is an extract.

Everything was within range except of course my cholesterol numbers. That would be enough to give my doctor a heart attack.

Cholesterol is largely misunderstood. What our doctors learnt at medical school and what main stream media is (still) dishing out is at least 50 years outdated.

I was very pleased that my inflammation marker (hs-C Reactive Protein) is still below 1.0.

This was how I broke my fast the next day (my post here).

  1. Good morning 🌞
No point going for blood test if put on special good eating behavior for one whole month just before the blood test.

  2. Dear friend, I hope your blood test results are good. I agree with what you said. Pretending is only a bandaid...not sure if I worded that correctly. LOL 😆 🤣 😂 😹
I always keep my apartment clean, so I don't have to pretend or lie when I get an unexpected visitor.
What I do before a blood test is to drink water.
My veins on my arms tend to hide and by drinking water it just makes it easier for the nurse to find a vein.
