This restaurant, Restoran Yok Tho Hing@Damansara Uptown, is not exactly new. It has been around for ages, just that my partner and I have never dined there before.
It is along same row as Village Park. |
As for me, heh..heh... I used to come to this place often for their soya sauce chicken which I thought was really good. They also sell char siew and siew yoke.
Let me share a story with you. One evening, I was very hungry and the first thing that came to my mind was the awesome soya sauce chicken. So I walked over to the shop and ordered quarter chicken (leg portion) with rice.
Since I was so hungry, I could not resist adding on a portion of siew yoke and char siew. The auntie who was serving me asked if I could finish so much food. So I told her that the food is not for me but for my brother who is a big-sized six footer wahahaha!!! The auntie nodded in understanding. I told my brother this story and being a good sport, he laughed.
I have since stopped buying the chicken because the price kept going up.
I noted that this restaurant also serves individual set lunches at quite an attractive price.
They also cater for group set lunches.

This restaurant is a down to earth no frills eatery and you will find that the ambiance is very coffee shop-like. That's downstairs, I don't know what it is like upstairs.
I am not too concerned about the aesthetics, what's important is the food. The menu is extensive enough to give you adequate choices for a nice meal.
I love having raw garlic with cili padi and soya sauce as a condiment to go with my food. But the last couple of times when I ate garlic, my partner complained about my breath. But that evening, he took some garlic too, so I joined in. Get smelly together.
We ordered the Chinese Style Pork Chops which was delicious.....
.... Salted Chicken in Wine.....
.... Stir Fried Sweet Potato Leaves and ....
.... Four Variety Vegetables (non-spicy for my partner's sake).
I did not have rice, so my partner ate two portions.
We enjoyed our dinner and we will be back. This dinner cost RM76+ which is all right.
The salted chicken in wine looks good, i love to eat garlic like that too, cannot kiss kiss after eat garlic lol
ReplyDeleteLOL! Even after brushing teeth the smell is still there :(
DeleteI have also passed this 'coffee shop' many times but didn't go inside yet. My wife is now happy when I told her that I will not eat mouthfuls of garlic again as it made my whole body smells even after i flushed my mouth & gargled my throat with buckets of listerine. The smell is still there inside the car and bedroom. Sigh! Bye bye garlic.
ReplyDeleteHah..hah... you must have eaten a lot for the smell to be in the car and bedroom!
DeletePork chop looks good. I had the 4 variety veg - I think they call it Four Heavenly Kings the other day but turned out to be only 3. Fried with sambal belacan, very nice...but the photos turned out blur. Can't share it in my blogpost coming soon.
ReplyDeleteI would also prefer with sambal but my partner can't eat food that is too spicy.
Deleteall are my type of dishes...I would prefer the Four Heavenly Kings to be spicy with sambal! nice to go with rice!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you!
DeleteReasonable price for the dishes ordered. My type of dinner! I love garlic but not raw.
ReplyDeleteWe will come back here more often for the good food and friendly prices.
DeleteWah! Jalan-jalan cari makan ye PH. Seronok kalau rajin mencuba, banyak pengalaman, boleh cuba resepi di dapur sendiri pula.
ReplyDeleteYa lah Amie, boleh buat R&D dan olah semula kat dapur hah..hah...
DeleteI like salted chicken but not many Dai Chow offer this dish though :(
ReplyDeleteI like it too. There used to be a shop nearby that sells this chicken but tutup shop already.
DeleteFood looks good. If I am eating dinner, I will just eat from all the dishes you ordered without any rice. Sure is delicious!
ReplyDeleteI will be back for more!
DeleteSo nice to be smelly together with garlic. LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL! Not even Colgate can help.
DeleteLooks like your partner is also quite a big-eater (if it's food he likes). 4 dishes for 2 is enough to feed a family of 2 adults + 2 children since the chicken looks like half a chicken....wuahahahaha! ;D
ReplyDeletehah..hah... we both eat a lot!
DeleteI just tried out a new bar in that area and we were looking for somewhere to look afterwards.
ReplyDeleteOh, a new bar? Since I don't drink I am not aware of these bars hee..hee..
DeleteKadang kadang kedai yg down to the earth nilah yg sedap kan LL. Masak mcm style mak mak kita...
ReplyDeleteI pun suka bawang putih... bawang putih goreng lagi sedap kan...
Betul tu! Tak payah fancy2 asal makanan sedap dah!
