My Fattening Weekend

Folks, for the next week or two, I won't have any cooking, let alone baking posts to share. Not that I haven't been cooking just that it isn't anything that I have not shared before.

This little coffee and cakes episode, I mean episodes (yup twice), happened to me and my brother over the Merdeka weekend (later in the afternoon after lunch).

My bro was feeling thirsty you see.... And I agreed to join in too. Then when we got to the counter, what did we see? Cakes. Slices and slices of cakes. How to resist?

So.

Caramel cheesecake...

and Pandan Gula Melaka...

And then two days later.....

And again....

Blueberry something something...

and Oreo Passionfruit something something...

Haiz.........

I had a small accident on our second visit when I knocked down my drink and my coffee and cream spilled onto the table and my handbag. Bah!

I managed to snatch the cup back up before I lost all my coffee. And my bro went "take photo! take photo!" but my hands were wet and sticky so I couldn't show you the aftermath. So clumsy!

Not cheap having coffee and cakes here (obviously) and this cost my bro RM50+ on both occasions. It was a lovely treat. I hope I haven't developed an addiction to the expensive coffee (and cakes).

  1. We have one very big Starbucks outlet here but I have never been. Not really a fan.

  2. aiya, your brother - why didn't he just take the photo with his hp instead of asking you to take? lucky the drink did not splash on your clothes. Nice of your brother to treat you on both occasions. I am always tempted by the cakes at Starbuck when my friends go buy coffee there but I tell myself I don't know how long the cakes have been there since not that many people eat cakes there so turnover should be low. That is how I stop myself from eating the cakes.

    1. Actually my brother was scrambling to help me clean up. What a mess! When I got home, I emptied my bag and tossed it into the washing machine along with my laundry (luckily it is made of cloth) hah...hah.... The cakes we had were fresh and very good.

  4. I don't like sweet stuff as much as you do but if you're willing to spend RM50 on cakes and coffees, you might as well spend it on good and fresh cakes from cafes that specialises in desserts, cakes and pastries which also have good coffees to go with them also. If I want to pile on the calories, it must be all worth it...hahaha! ;D

  7. I am a fan of Starbucks and would definitely have coffee & cakes in China, Japan or others. They tend to have very comfy sofas and drinks that won't disappoint us.
