One Friday evening, when my partner asked me what I wanted for dinner, I decide to give him chance (to eat rice and dishes) and I suggested Yik Kee@TTDI.
When we got there, alamak! The restaurant was closed. So that's how we ended up at Goodness Greens Cafe which is just a few doors away.
And goodness me, the moment I saw the menu, I immediately knew this the the sort of food that I like.
See that? They even have a Keto Bowl for people who want to low carb. After checking out the various options, my partner and I decided on the Fried Rice Quinoa with Teriyaki Chicken Thigh for him and Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Thigh and House-made Sambal for me.
For drinks, my partner decided he needed a detox and chose the Chlorophyll Water. Not the most exciting of drinks.
I was not about to detox of a Friday night and I had the Acai Berry Smoothie.
Very nice! What I like is that there is no added sugar to the smoothie.
This is my partner's Fried Rice Quinoa with Teriyaki Chicken Thigh.
I knew he would pass his share of the chilies to me.
Quite a sumptuous serving.
This is mine with Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Thigh and the House-Made Sambal.
As expected, I had more than my fair share of chilies.
I must say that the sambal was surprisingly good and the fried quinoa had a nice wok hei going on. I enjoyed my meal to the max. I want to come back next Friday!
oh the drinks are la juiceria brand - should be healthy and tasty. I think I will go for the nasi lemak wrap.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the nasi lemak wrap is nice. You try and let me know hee..hee...
Deletedon't think I will have a chance since it is located in ttdi which is an area I seldom venture to.
DeleteVery healthy drink. Once a while, detox with juice is good for us.
ReplyDeleteYour chicken thigh looked delicious to me. I would love the lemongrass fragrant in the meat.
I was quite pleasantly surprised that it was good.
Deletei like how the servings here have enough chillies to help spike up our metabolism by a bit! :)
ReplyDeleteI should eat more chilies. LOL!
DeleteSure looks good for a place serving healthy meals - most look so bland and boring.
ReplyDeleteHealthy and tasty, I was so pleased.
DeleteAha! Thanks for telling us that you will be there next Friday! I will walk there to stalk you.
ReplyDeleteOK, see you. LOL!
DeleteDo you like the taste of quinoa? I can't say I'm a fan after trying it once.
ReplyDeletePlain quinoa by itself, no I don't like the taste and smell. If it is tossed in dressing (like at Salad Atelier where I fist tasted it) or well fried like fried rice, then I find it tasty.
Deletewhenever I heard of quinoa I thought of 'rich man's food' (we have an ex PM that eats quinoa everyday)...Ever since then, people all follow the trend to eat quinoa....lol, just kidding
ReplyDeleteLOL! Yes, I remember that news.
DeleteDefinitely Lemongrass Chicken for me! Yum! xoxo
ReplyDeleteVery aromatic and delicious :)
DeleteI like the variety of healthy options this place offers. I always feel happy after eating a healthy meal.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you would! I noted that you blogged about this place twice in 2016.
DeleteI am interested in the Buddha Bowl and Teriyaki Chicken Grain Bowl, sound like something different
ReplyDeleteI would like to try those two next!
DeleteI'm totally fine with quinoa and I like your fried quinoa came with generous of egg!
ReplyDeleteI would want to try your dinner, looks delicious. I too prefer some chilies for extra oomph!
