What Do You Want To Eat, Darling?

"Ai chiak hamik?" (what do you want to eat? He didn't say darling, that was just wishful thinking on my part) my partner asked me one Friday evening. "Lu ai chiak hamik?" (what do you want to eat?) I asked him back.

It's always like that with us. He asks me and then I ask him. Ultimately he leaves the decision to me. "Chili's ah?" he suggested, while my head was still spinning on where to go. So Chilis it was.

It was a busy night and to avoid having to wait, we sat at the table outside. I was hungry but I did not want to indulge in the usual stuff that I eat at Chilis.

My partner has been choosing to eat salads at Chilis. In the past, Fish and Chips was his usual and he would refer to eating salad as "chiak chau" (eating grass).

So, a Santa Fe Chicken Salad for him. The only salad that does not contain cheese.

And a Buffalo Chicken Salad for her with instructions to leave out the feta cheese.

Does that look good or what?

For drinks, we decided not to have the refillable drinks. Our usual was the lemonade but we wised up. After all, how much can one drink in one sitting? For that price, if you can only finish one mug or only half, it's not worth it.

So.

One bottle to share.

We enjoyed our salads (except that I thought mine needed more dressing) and I better think of where to go next week.

I always like to suggest Chillis for meeting up a group of friends. Besides the yummy food, we get unlimited bottomless soda drinks and tortilla chips!!!!!! We could yak & yak whole night while nibbling 6 baskets of tortilla chips. It's FREE lagi.

  5. Hey!!! I had that bottle of mineral water that day but I decided not to blog about it - actually, what aroused my interest was I did not know that CocaCola is into water as well, not just Coke.

  6. Ha ha ha! You and partner sound so like hubby and I but we used Cantonese. Final decision usually comes from him because he is more particular than me. I love salads but not hubby!

  9. Unless it has got very unique ingredients or something I can't put together at home, I seldom order salads when I eat out. I always feel when I pay I need them to cook me something I can't make at home...hehe! ;)

    1. I agree with you! This salad has battered deep fried chicken and ranch dressing, something I don't make often at home.

  10. My hubby and I are like this too. I ask him where to eat and he asks me in return. Come to think of it, he always replies with a question. That can be quite frustrating at times, esp when I have to guess what is it that he wants to eat.

    1. I like cheese, but depends on what cheese. Mozarella on pizza and cheddar cheese are OK for me. The rest I tak boleh tahan the smell.
