Go Noodles No Noodles

Who does that, right? Go into a noodle shop and tell them you don't want noodles.

This madam does that. And yes, she got funny looks at first. But they are used to it now and it's considered normal.

I add on more vegetables and I do enjoy my noodle-less soup.

Mmmmm....I love spring onions!

I did that at Mr Fish too. And they offered to give me more vegetables in place of noodles. How thoughtful.

Bittergourd is pretty good in soup.

I do apologize for the lack of cooking and baking posts. Well, I'll cook something nice for myself that I can share next week. If not, you'll be seeing lots of chap fan (with no fan). Wahahaha!!!

  3. I admire how you can transition from eating big portions (with your brother) and then eat small portions like these (without noodles)...and still be full afterwards (I wish I could but I can't). Hey, I miss your cooking posts...but not your baking posts (wahahaha, I'm being honest here! :D). Maybe it's because I don't really like to eat sweet stuff that much.

  4. You are so creative and playful with words. I am sure you loved pantun & nursery rhymes as a kid. Now I label myself "Read Blogs, No Blogs".
My wife has the same habit as yours to eat just the soup & veggies. The most recent was the Penang Laksa at One Utama.

  6. Lol. Sometimes we did that too. Like Sarawak laksa without mee hoon. The soup without noodle. Kueh chap without kueh. All ingredients except noodle.

I love lots of spring onion and greens in my soup.

  16. Noodles dish without noodles definitely not weird nowadays. And I used to had zap fan without rice too but now I seldom eat out even for working lunch because I'll pack my lunch from home or cook it in the office with my trusty mini rice cooker :P

    1. Quite common now for people to skip rice. I feel very assured when I see others doing that at chap fan shop.
