Feeling Good

Today I feel good. When I got into the office this morning, my brain was going ding! ding! ding! And I was going about my work like Speedy Gonzalez

Arriba! Arriba!

Everything was so clear, crisp and bright. I went about my work with super efficiency. No anxiety even though I had to rush something that was urgent. This is the sort of mental clarity and efficiency that I achieve when I eliminate carbohydrates from my diet.

Last night's dinner was a flank steak and some leftover bone broth. Nope, the flank steak was not delicious. It is a cheap cut of meat, although tender enough it does not taste good like ribeye or sirloin. It is also too lean.

I went to Twins Signature Roast Duck again for a duck-fest. Dunno why I was craving duck.

It was very quiet when I got there (just before 12:00pm) and next thing I know, a whole battalion of people walked in. Business is good.

The Kopi C today was not as good as previous visits. It was diluted. But eh, I know how to make super duper Kopi C at home heh..heh...heh...

The duck was as good as ever. All around me I saw the other customers enjoying their duck/roasted meats with either rice or noodles.

Sure I would love to eat the duck with rice but for now I choose to abstain because I want to get back the optimal mental and physical health that I achieved for 10 months from May 2022 to February 2023.

When I went to pay for my meal, the leng chai (Donald) gave me the sweetest smile. I wonder if TM had anything to do with that hah...hah...

Losing what I achieved after falling off the carnivore way of eating for four months from March 2023 to June 2023 had been an eye opener for me. No more, it is not worth it.

I choose wellness over temporary pleasure. Health is wealth may sound like a cliche but there is a lot of truth in it.

I treasure my mental health most of all. It's horrible to experience anxiety and depression every other day. Besides I love meat. So I can live this way, being meat based, for the rest of my life. Yay, me!

  1. The mere sight of the duck makes me feel good too. Absolutely gorgeous! I wish we could get some really good roast duck here in this Foochow town.

    1. Only half. One whole duck is too much even for me LOL!

  3. Good that you enjoy the benefit of being carnivore. Roast duck anytime for me...I need more red meat now. But I try not to overdo it. Moderation is the key. Too much of good thing is not good as they say.

  4. I truly understand the importance of mental health and I want to become like you. Arriba! Arriba! Donald & Daisy Quack Quack!! I have not managed to head over for the duck platter. When I do so, the Leng Chai would roll out red carpet and curtsey! All the dead ducks would come back to life. Lolol

    1. LOL! You know, my recent visit (yesterday) the food was not so good. That made me worry that they are not consistent!

  6. Of course Donald, the leng chai, will give you the sweetest smile. You're his no. 1 customer ordering half a duck each time...lol. Since I foresee many more visits here, perhaps you can secretly take a photo of the leng chai to let us see if he's really a leng chai....wahahahaha! As you've said yourself, you love meat...that's why it was easy for you to go on a carnivore diet. People (like me) who can't stomach too much meat in one sitting (I love meat too, you know) will find it hard to comply to this diet. Too much meat make me want to throw up. Sometimes I wonder if you didn't like meat, would you have gone carnivore? Very difficult isn't it, it's like asking someone who doesn't like to eat bitter gourd that he or she must eat bitter gourd for every meal...urgh!

    1. hah..hah... you look out, got photo of leng chai coming up! LOL! Well, like you said, luckily for me I love meat. Even if I didn't like meat, I would have still given it a shot. There are many long term vegetarians/vegans who switched to carnivore due to health issues. They start slow, eating eggs and fish and working their way up to red meats.
