Bacon and Steak
Today's lunch was steak and bacon. It wasn't meant to be like that. It was supposed to only be steak and eggs.
Last Sunday, I found some oyster blade steaks at Aeon. Yup, the stuff that I paid RM69.90 for at The Red Kettle. Of course it will be costly at the restaurant.
I grilled the steaks in my Ninja air grill.
Then I fried some bacon which was meant to be eaten later for dinner.
You know how it is with bacon. You eat one piece and you cannot stop, right?
This was the original plan. Steak and eggs. Those are duck eggs and I overcooked them. I meant to have the yolks runny.
The steaks were good. And then I had an idea.
I put a slice of bacon on top of each slice of steak.
Whoaaaa..... that was so addictive! Well, there was nothing leftover was later hah...hah...hah....
Other than salted egg and in Penang char kuaw tiaw, I never tasted duck egg.
ReplyDeleteBacon is addictive!! I can't resist.
I love duck eggs for the rich creamy yolks.
DeleteI had beef bacon in my blogpost today - of course lah, serves no pork places. I prefer pork...and smoked...and I love bacon more than ham! Your eggs are fine - the yolk may not be runny but it is still a bit moist, not too dry.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I have to cut down the time I boil the eggs. Ah, I did see the beef bacon you had. I actually don't mind beef bacon.
DeleteI've seen oyster blade cut before but have not bought coz don't know if it'll work as a steak (since it has a relatively cheaper price tag). Is it tender enough as a steak? You can pretty much put bacon on top of anything and it'll be addictive. By the way, you cooked the steak in your Ninja grill but not the bacon? Why need to fry the bacon separately when you can put them into your Ninja grill? Less washing mah....lol! ;D
ReplyDeleteYes, the oyster blade steak was tender. I was quite please with it. I didn't cook the bacon in the Ninja because from past experience when I put bacon in the air fryer (especially if I cook more) it tends to become smoky due to the bacon drippings.
DeleteThis is the first time I heard of "oyster" blade steaks. I am always learning some new vocabs from you and Kris EWEW. My 2 foodie sifus.
ReplyDeleteI would not be able to swallow the food that I have to pay RM69.90 unless it's a hotel buffets that often costs over RM100.
I want to buy bacon this week! Nothing's stopping me.
LOL! Yes, very pricey but it was delicious when they cooked it rare and the sauce they gave was very tasty. Mine is slightly overcooked.
DeleteGo and buy bacon and enjoy!
Now you see, now you don't!
ReplyDeleteLOL!
DeleteI wonder why they call them oyster blade steaks. We buy duck eggs too because they have a stronger eggy taste.
ReplyDeleteI am wondering too. I like duck eggs because of the rich creamy yolks. So good!
