Covid-19 MCO : Day #91 (My Pricey Lunch In Plastic Containers)

I have heard of Eatomo but until today have not had a chance to visit. To my delight I found out that they are on Grabfood

The first time I ordered was during the early part of the MCO where I thought I paid an obscene amount of money for so little food hah..hah...I reckon the plastic container made the pain even worse but oh my, I must say that the Wok Fired Spicy Gyutandon was to die for!

Recently I noted that they are on Grabfood Signatures and right now there is a promotional 30% discount (until 21-06-2020, discount capped at RM12.00). Besides there appears to be some small discount on some of their dishes.

I have never been there so I don't know what the prices are at  the restaurant. Since I super loved the Wok Fired Spicy Gyutandon, I made an order for that.

What? RM4.65 for an Onsen Souvide Egg? And RM3.50 for a fried egg? The egg import from Japan or what? hah...hah....

At such prices, I would gladly fry my own egg or rather, two eggs.

It is very pricey to add on stuff.

So use what you have in the fridge. I am definitely not going to pay RM2.12 for some chili flakes or chili oil.

From experience, I knew that one dish is not enough for me so I made another order for Work Fired Spicy Brisket Bowl.  And being the greedy person that I am, I also added Fried Chicken Bites Salad. I needed some greens with my meal.

The bummer is that you have to order a drink with the so called "combo" meal. At least one of the choices is Japanese Green Tea, so I can avoid sugary drinks which I dislike.

Total damage after discounts is RM76.20.

This was my luxurious lunch.

The Wok Fired Spicy Gyutandon was as good as before.

I also enjoyed the Wok Fired Spicy Brisket Bowl though it was a bit gamey.

Of all three, the Fried Chicken Bites Salad was not so worth it.

Next time I shall not be so greedy. Just order one dish, fry some eggs or boil some eggs and toss my own salad hee..hee...

  1. When I read that the egg cost RM3.50, it was shocking to me... nowadays eggs are very cheap especially in Ipoh... for 3 trays=90 eggs, it cost only RM10! Now what am I going to do with 90 eggs??? My fridge has no place for them.. hahaha...

  2. Oh dear!!! Your eggs! Mushahahahahaha!!!! I do not mind these plastic containers as I can wash them and keep and reuse again and again and again, great for storing leftovers and stuff in the fridge.

  4. I wouldn't order eggs at that price. We can fry the eggs and you can make delicious salad too.

  5. Oh, you do like the food. I thought you didn't when you mentioned you had an issue with the prices. Now I see why...you boleh eat 3 mains...wahahahaha! ;D I've been wanting you to try our favourite thing here (and glad you finally did)...the wok fired spicy beef tongue (twice!)...and liked it immensely (hmmm, but the beef brisket I had was quite good, maybe mco beef not so good...haha). To lessen your 'pain', you should order a double portion of beef tongue and cook your own extra rice and fried eggs (we do that...heehee). This used to be more spicy previously when they cooked it with a lot of bird's eye chillies which we had to scoop out onto a saucer, so we might be the cause why it's less spicy now...lol! I agree, the salads are not worth it (you can make better ones at home). Next, I'd probably recommend the tamago mentai, unagi (warning: small portions!) and lemon butter clams (but this one must dine-in lah) coz I think you'll like them too. Prices are certainly cheaper if you eat in, so maybe you can ajak your brother there one day. ^_~

  6. I have eaten lunch once at Eatomo Taman Desa and that was a poke bowl. Spicy beef tongue is definitely out for me if it is very spicy. I think there is an Eatomo branch nearer to u so like ewew says u could go there with your brother one day.

  7. So in the end you fry your own eggs? I also do not like sugary drinks such as fanta grape, tastes so artficial.

  9. I normally step off when the delivery charges is more that RM5, hehe, so cheapskate, I know :P Since we can dine in now, why not try have the meal in their restaurant as Bangsar or the other outlet in Publika (if not mistaken) are not very far from your place.
Hubby ordered once the food delivery and forced to get the combo with drinks, we banned that eatery after that initial order. >_<
