Covid-19 MCO : Day #89 (His First Haircut)

It was Friday evening and my partner was looking forwards to his first haircut in many, many months. The man does not have much hair, preferring a close cropped style which he says saves him on shampoo and time.

But first we went to Chili's@1 Utama for dinner, our first visit after many months. I told my partner we better be early as I was sure many people would want to visit as well.

Sure enough there was a queue. It was quite a long wait because the restaurant had to ensure that there were not too many diners inside at any one time.

Some tables were not in use in order to maintain social distancing. I think we waited for something like 20 minutes before we were seated.

We placed our orders immediately so that we could eat quickly to make way for other diners.

No need to ask, my partner had his same old same old - Santa Fe Chicken Salad.

I had the Ancho Chile Salmon which was delicious. While we were enjoying our dinner, we noted a table of two diners who were way ahead of us. The two ladies had finished their dinner but they went on chatting.

When we left, they were still at the table. There were still people waiting for a table and I felt that at a time like this, diners ought to be considerate and vacate their tables once they were done.

Then we made our way to Tesco. It was a rainy evening.

This is the barber shop that my partner frequents.

Before he was allowed inside, the barber had to put on his protective gear. My partner remarked to me "Aiyo, he looks like he is suiting up for the operating theater" hah..hah...

Well that's the SOP that the barber has to comply with for his and his customer's safety.

While waiting, I looked around outside.

I saw this beauty salon.

I wonder what is Half Leg/Half Arm Waxing. The nice girl came out to ask me if I needed assistance. I politely told her that I was just looking. This auntie won't spend money on things like this.

After my partner was done (he said his head felt lighter), we went inside Tesco to jalan-jalan

It was very quiet, not many people. In fact it was also like this  even before the MCO, unlike many years back when there were more customers.

Ah! Cat food.

I bought a packet, not for my cat but for her boyfriend hah...hah...

  1. Half leg waxing, wax half only, never mind the other half hairy like orang utan? Aiyor!!! So many people, gotta queue some more. I would just go elsewhere. Food looks good though - went once a long long time ago, Mid Valley, loved it! I had my hair cut already, curi curi a few weeks ago went to my friend's house.

    1. LOL! Short queue but long wait. But it was worth it because the food was good. I haven't had my haircut yet.

  2. Haha, does the boyfriend eat the same food as Ah Girl (or he gets the lesser quality ones)? Hehe, not judging coz I do the same to the cats who come round my house for free food (I can't afford to buy them, yup, there's more than one) the ones Cookie eats at double the price...sorry).

Half leg/half arm means they only do half...the other half sendiri buat..LOL! >_< I wonder what's gold facial...put gold leaf on your face? Kekeke! :D

My hairdresser didn't go all surgeon-like. She just wore a mask...not so frightening, the hair salons. I think the Indian barbers are probably more worried and need better protection as they tend to have foreign workers as customers because of the cheaper prices they charge.

  3. I had my haircut on Friday!
It was a home operation and she only accepts very few appointments from her regulars.

  4. Yes, I agree with you. Should eat fast and let other people eat if there is a queue. Wow! Your salmon dish looks very good. Maybe one day I will eat it in Midvalley branch.

  7. Do you plan to get a haircut? Or you are keeping your hair long. Good that the barber took extra precaution for both his own safety and also his customers' safety.

  9. Half leg waxing? Also got half arm waxing. Why half? Why want to wax half only? Then what about the other half?

  11. I had my hair cut 3-4 inches on Thursday.. beh tahan jor...RM5 more than the usual price because of their attire and also the plastic poncho my hairdresser put on me. Double mask for him and I asked him whether he could see clearly or not with the plastic shield... I prefer him to take it off so that my hair won't be affected.. hahahaa...

  12. Agree with you, we sh be more considerate and leave to give way to other diners when we finished eating as they could be hungry and yet hv to wait.
