My Hungry Stomach Strikes Again

Hungry! Hungry! Arrr...!! Arrr...!! Arrr....!! What's a big appetite to do when hunger calls? Go look for Big Breakfast of course. Tsk!

This time I decided to try the one served at Vine@The Starling (CLOSED). I was here before with my brother where we had a tummy bursting brunch.

As usual, I must have my kopi, no sugar. I love the coffee here. Nice aroma and taste.

Ah....does that look good or what? Not as huge as the one I had elsewhere but I enjoyed this one better.

My only complaint is I would prefer a thick slice of toast rather than a small croissant. Toast would have been perfect with the butter and jam provided.

Loads of protein there. The beef bacon and turkey ham tasted fine and the mini sausages were alright.

Though it's not extraordinary, I enjoyed everything on my plate.

Way before my recent big breakfast experience, I went to Red Kettle@The Starling for their Porkie Egg Benedict

The coffee here is pretty good too.

Ooohhhh...luscious runny yolks, I love! This was another hearty breakfast as the eggs were sitting atop a piece of grilled pork shoulder and sourdough bread. This may not be a big breakfast, but it sure was very filling!

  5. Ooooo...the Big Breakfast sure look like to die for nd I would love the Egg Benedict too. That's not twin yolks, I'm sure, smallkucing. Break two eggs in a bowl and pour together into the pan to fry and you will get it like that. Saw them doing it at a hotel and I always do it at home now. Copycat. Hehehehehe!!!

  8. I see that you're very into BBs these days. But you know, it's also one of the easiest to make at home especially so if the components on the plate are mostly processed ones you can buy off the shelves. I almost never order sunny side up eggs...that I can do at home successfully, so I try to order those I can't make as successfully...poached or scrambled...kikiki! ;D I know there's nothing much we can do about the processed ham, pork or beef bacon but (for me personally) I'd like to see a component of inhouse made item on the plate...like sausages with freshly cooked mushrooms, potatoes and tomatoes instead of factory-made hash browns or baked beans. Hopefully one day you can venture into a brunch cafe that makes their own sausages and your BB experience will forever be changed...hehe! ;) Mmmm, I spot some French butter which I agree would go very well with a slice of toast.

    1. Ever since you posted your one pan fry up, I wanted to try it too but still have not had the chance. You are right, we can DIY a good BB at home. I am still waiting for a chance to go eat at Ra.ft. Must butter up my brother so that he can take me there hee..hee..

    2. Use more of the Elle & Vire butter...wakakakaka! :D Otherwise, you just have to wait for their new outlet to open...which will be nearer to you. So far, the people I've recommended the place to and the people I've brought there has come away loving it! ;)

  9. Hola!! You just made Oppa TM pengsan with the sight of the huge square plate of BIG BREAKFAST! It could feed me & wife for breakfast & lunch but you sapu sekali gus! I think you buy clothes from Ms Read or where Rosmah shops. Ha ha! Just lawak, jangan marah! I remember your tiny feet wearing the selipar Jepun.

I agree that croissant is out of place for such sumo meal. It should be a Dunlopillo Toast served on the plate.

    1. LOL! You made me laugh lah you! Yeah, yeah, I know I eat too much but my tangki is very big you know. Cannot tahan if just half tank, ok? Instead of croissant, it would be nice to have a thick slice of toasted sourdough bread. That would have gone so well with the butter and jam.

  12. Oh my! That is one BIG Breakfast! Not sure I could finish it by myself. My tummy used to be very good, able to digest everything no matter how big the portion was. But now, my tummy shrink. Cannot eat too much. A little bit, I am almost full. And also try to take care of my health. Try not to overstuff myself. Haha.
