My parents were in town. And that means MAKAN! heh..heh..heh...
My mum had been dreaming of Annie-1's Curry Laksa ever since she saw it on my blog. I think she reminded me a few times that on her next trip to KL, she wants to eat the curry laksa. So of course, fulfilling mum's wish was the agenda for the day.
My brother and I took our parents to Annie-1 for lunch. Luckily for us, the place was not as packed as we had expected.
My mum and my brother had the Curry Laksa Supreme.
Look at that. So yummy. My dad wanted the curry laksa too but his nurse stopped him. Better wait until after your medical check-up, she said. So dad had the Wantan Mee with Char Siew and Wantan.
I had the same thing to keep my dad company. No regrets because the wantan mee was as fabulous as always.
Mummy and Papa enjoying their lunch. |
My mum enjoyed the curry laksa very much and my dad was happy with his wantan mee. Mum's bowl says it all.
But she left behind some gravy because my grandma used to say that you cannot empty the bowl/plate completely. That indoctrination still sticks.
But my brother, sapu everything. Not a drop left. Obviously that leave-behind-some-food ideology was not passed on heh...heh...heh...
After our meal, we went for a brief walkabout at The Starling. To be continued....
What a fun makan day for the whole family! Wah, your father brings his nurse with him wherever he goes! Keng!
ReplyDeleteNo choice mah, he is married to her. LOL!
DeleteFamily Fun Day! YAY!
ReplyDeleteYay!
DeleteThe best thing to do you with family is makan- makan yeay! The price is not bad right? It is relatively cheap.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with your parents madam :)
Very reasonable price and yes, I enjoyed my time with my parents.
DeleteOoo I haven’t heard about the leave-some-food-behind philosophy ... my grandmother would frown at that though! :) which state are your parents living in? Glad they enjoyed their meal! :)
ReplyDeleteMy parents live in Terengganu. They said the food is KL and PJ is loads better hee.hee..
DeleteHola Princess Hong!!! Your mum reads your blogsssss!! Wow! Your Bonda Puteri Terengganu must have been wondering who is this crazy Oppa TM who is your most loyal and insane blog fan in the universe with hastag nonsense. Your mum must be asking and wants to dine with me for next round! No?? Hello! Hello! Ah Hong Chee's mother? Hello? My regards to you and I share the same love for that bowl of Curry Laksa Supreme! I would eat till last drop until the bowl so clean that the kitchen need not cuci the mangkuk... hihihihi
ReplyDeleteYesterday I just ate the Char Siew Wantan Mee at Lot10's Hutong where only the best stalls are allowed to set up. It was so damn good and I eat there every month with my developer client. Go try it with your lahling!!
#TM wannaMeetAhHongMummy #SedapCuciMangkuk #BondaPuteriTerengganu
LOL! My mum loves you farnee comments. She said you are very "khong kham" wahahahaha!! I have heard about Lot 10 Hutong. Must go try one day.
DeleteFrom the first photo, I knew you were at Annie 1...coz 1) the bowl for curry laksa is always black (not sure why your mom's one is different though), 2) I saw 'recognisable' char siew and 3) there was a pork ball!
ReplyDeleteOh-em-gee, I see the "sapu" everything runs in the family...kekeke! ;D No matter how good the broth is (be it curry, soup, prawn mee, etc.) I had/can never finish all the broth like you guys. I see your mom likes kopi-o-ping too :)
hee..hee...unmistakably Annie-1 :) As you correctly observed, my family eats a lot hah..hah... Yes, my mum is a coffee drinker!
DeleteCurry laksa looks good. Wahhhhhh!!!! Your mum memang jilat licin, so very nice ah!!!
ReplyDeleteOh! That was your brother's bowl. That was supposed to be a sign of good manners, leave something behind, don't eat it all...so they will tell you that if you take that last piece, you will end up being a spinster your whole life but one must eat one's own plate/bowl clean though - they say you leave anything behind, your face will look exactly like that, you will end up with bad complexion.
DeleteOh! hah..hah.. There must have been some confusion on my grandma's part. I also heard from my partner that you must not even leave a grain of rice behind lest your face will be blemished :D
DeleteWhat a fun outing with your family!! I hope you enjoyed every minute of their visit!!!
ReplyDeleteI did! I love spending time with my parents.
DeleteSay hello to Uncle and Auntie for me.
ReplyDeleteThe price is very reasonable.
My mum reads this blog, so she knows Libby said hello!
DeleteWah, really polished off clean clean LOL
ReplyDeleteI like wonton mee and Annie a's version definitely one of the best I've tasted :)
I agree with you!
DeleteCurry laksa supreme looks good to me. I love drinking curry noodle soup until kering kontang too, but the soup contains more calories than the noodle actually, because it is loaded with lots of sugar. Screaming HELP!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I can safely drink all the gravy at Annie-1 because I know I won't feel thirsty afterwards.
Deletecurry laksa would be my choice..with the empty bowls, it only said one thing, it is delicious.
ReplyDeleteThe curry laksa is excellent. The best I have eaten so far.
DeleteI like your parents! Parents visiting - makan time! We'd get along well ;-)
ReplyDeleteIndeed! They would be intrigued by those swanky places you go to :)
DeleteWah!
ReplyDeleteSapu until licin!
Yeah, no need to wash the bowl LOL!
DeleteThe curry laksa looks so delicious, no wonder sapu all by your bro. I like the look of the wanton noodle and char siew too! So your dad has to wait for the next trip to try the curry laksa!
ReplyDeleteIt's very good the curry laksa and wanton mee. I am sure you have fantastic ones in Ipoh too.
DeleteHihi..... every husband mmg selalu dengar ckp nurse tau LL hahaha....Untung tau jadi nurse!
ReplyDeleteLarat lagi parent you ye LL. Senang nak bawak round kalau mcm tu
