Just in case you all thought that I have abandoned the carnivore way of eating, let me assure you that I am still very much meat based.
Yes, I have deviated again due to stress and emotional eating. I reached my carbohydrate tolerance threshold last Saturday when I experienced some degree of anxiety. So I have to reset and rewind.
Anyway, in the midst of my carbohydrate consumption (which is one carb meal in a day), my meals are still mostly meat based.
And ever since discovering Aqina Pineapple Chicken, I have been buying their chicken chop and roasting them in the air fryer.
Of course I prefer steak heh..heh... This is the second last piece of sirloin that I have in the freezer. I can't afford to buy steaks (so often) anymore.
Sorry for the oily presentation. These days I have no time for glamour shots. This was cooked last Sunday. I had to make a quick trip with my partner to the nursing home to drop off extra supplies for dad.
These are my leftover (they were one week old hah..hah...) crustless pizza. They were so good after reheating in the air fryer oven. The cheese taste really good once they are browned like that.
I am still determined to grow old, strong and healthy. I read a very inspiring article, To Age Well, Start Young written by gerontologist Lily Fu of Seniors Aloud. We are all responsible for our own health. Hear! Hear!
Pauline Adelke is very fit for a 71 year old. The only thing that I am not on board with her is plant-based eating. But she is doing well on it, so what can I say.
I don't eat potato chips and donuts anymore. But I am still open to the occasional pastry every now and then. But the addiction is gone.
I get hungry very fast if I do not eat meat. Seafood is not good enough, must have meat.
ReplyDeleteMe too! That's why I can never sustain on a vegetarian diet.
DeleteAh, dropping off supplies. That sounds so familiar. All the best to you to grow old, strong and healthy. I am now saving up to fly to Switzerland to do myself in because I don't want to end up in a nursing home. My grandma in Taiwan is 107 years old. Despite her growing old healthily she still needs to be in a nursing home after rolling off her bed and breaking her hip and went for a hip replacement surgery. I am happy to live until 66 and will be happy to depart earlier than 66. Nice meals by the way. I just need a small portion of your meat dishes because I am eating omad and I am happy to say I can get to 42.2 now after water lost in the morning. Time to build strength in the remaining muscle 💪
ReplyDeleteYou have made an interesting choice. I wonder if the process is an arduous one and if a person would have to go through many substantive evaluations for terminating life if the person is still viable ie not at end stage and no hope of recovery from illness.
DeleteGod bless your grandma. She is long lived and it is really remarkable to reach 107 years of age!
Just add additional curry powder to the usual marinade for the curry air fried chicken? What curry powder you used?
ReplyDeleteAh! I will share the recipe soon hee..hee...
Delete😁👍👍 You have given me more ideas what to throw inside my oven soon. I saw places selling well marinated chicken and meat which is suitable for me. I want to visit that big new concept supermarket at the ground floor of Wisma BU8 where the CIMB and former Anytime Gym was. I saw crowds and the social media selling all kinds of cut meat in very attractive packing. They target those busy people and cost saving menus. I just need well marinated meat and pile up vegetables tomatoes & pineapples to toast together. It might give you ideas from there.
ReplyDeleteI know what supermarket you mentioned. It is Halo supermarket or something like that. I have yet to visit. My partner always says that those pre-marinated meats are those meats that they can't sell by the expiry date. He is so suspicious! LOL!
DeleteI thought oil only solidifies (and turn white) after it has been in the fridge. Didn't know it turns like that even at room temperature (guess I wouldn't know since I hardly cook/eat fats). So those meat you cooked in the mornings (with all the oil/liquid drippings in the container) will turn whitish/solid when you eat it in the office later?
ReplyDeleteYes, animal fats will turn solid once cooled down at room temperature. If I eat the beef trimmings later in the office, yup the fats become white and solid.
