Before I start my post, has anyone of you who use the Blogger platform experienced any problems of late?
I noticed that my blog take longer to launch and also there is a lag when publishing comments. Same thing with post preview, it takes ages to load. I also noted that a few blogs on my side bar cannot function and I am unable to re-link because the layout function would not load! Haiz! Hopefully this issue is resolved soon or else I will have to create another blog.
Anyway. Quite recently I found out that there is another way to cook steaks. This technique is reverse searing.
Basically a steak is cooked in the oven first and then seared briefly in a very hot cast iron pan. Hmm... quite interesting, so I decided to give it a go.
I guess the advantage of this method is that the steak gets cooked all around and you don't have to sort of do some stunt to cook the sides of the steak using the pan.
So this will be the way I cook steaks from now on.
Thanks for the tips on cooking steaks. Very useful for those with air fryer and oven and often cook steaks at home. The egg yolks look so pretty, so orange. Very yummy steak! 😋😋😋 So far, blogger seems ok to me but takes longer to load other blogs when I am blog hopping.
ReplyDeleteYour blog on my side bar was affected but it is back to normal now. Yay!
DeleteBravo! Bravo! Perfegg!!! Well done! I love the look of your chicken wings too.
ReplyDeleteAh! You could forsee my next post. LOL!
DeleteI too encounter some problem with blogger but not all the time, sometimes only. Certain days I will have problem accessing some blogs but after a while or maybe the next day, I will be able to access those blogs. I suppose I am not a steak person.
ReplyDeleteThank God it is back to normal again!
Deletei didn't encounter any issue with blogger lately.
ReplyDeleteWell, lucky you!
DeleteYes, I encountered the same problems you experienced with blogger. The side bars on my blog also weren't working (they were not able to show the latest posts). I tried to re-link some of them too, some I was able to do but most I couldn't. But, thankfully, everything's back to normal now (it rectified itself).
ReplyDeleteI don't know about reverse searing but I've seen numerous times on cooking shows where they'll sear the meat on the pan and then let it finish cooking in the oven. Don't know if that counts as reverse searing...lol. That plate of food doesn't look like a lot, was that enough for you for one meal? ;)
Yup, all back to normal, thank goodness!
DeleteYes, I always see the chefs sear first and then continue in the oven. I guess it's reverse sear since it is done in the opposite way which I think is quite good, the result is perfect every time. Oh, I was very full after the meal. Steak and eggs is very filling.
Yes, my son also cooks his roasted pork using air fryer too... how long exactly, I am not sure, just have to check it after half hour and flip over every now and then after that.... your steak indeed looks medium rare, normally I order it medium well...hahaha.... by the way, I did not experience any lagging over here... hope yours is now resolved...
ReplyDeleteThat's good to know! My air fryer is my best friend now. LOL!
DeleteNo problem so far on my blogger platform.
ReplyDeleteYour steak was beautifully cooked.
Lucky you! Mine is back to normal again. Phew!
DeleteI think this method can have a better control of the desired doness of the steak.
ReplyDeleteYou are right!
