Soybar - So Good So Smooth!

I love soybean milk and desserts. When I was a child, having a a glass of cold fresh soybean milk was such a treat. Somehow at that time, I did not appreciate tau fu fah (soybean pudding) at all.

Now I will not say no to tau fu fah. This simple dessert has evolved into something fancy with an equally fancy price tag. I have had my fill of soybean desserts from Soylab, Tono and most recently The Soybean Factory.

In terms of soybean milk, for me it must be the fresh kind. I dislike the one that comes in a carton because it has one kind of smell that puts me off.

However, I make an exception for V-Soy (which come in cartons and glass bottles) which I think is quite delicious especially the V-Soy Multigrain but alas it is too sweet, which is why I stopped taking it. In fact I stopped drinking soybean milk for quite some time.

But today, I fell in love with soybean milk again when I received my first Soybar delivery.

I read about Soybar here and although I checked their website, somehow I was not motivated to place an order. Then recently I read about Soybar again here and that's when I made up my mind to finally try it.

So there you have it - 3 bottles of soybean milk and 3 tubs of cold bean curd.

The flavors are labelled on the bottle caps. I have tried flavored soybean milk before and I must say that I still prefer the original flavor. That is why I opted for original (unsweetened and sweetened just to test the sugar level) and black soy.

I tried the Black Soy first (it's interesting that the soy milk has a greenish hue, my favorite color) and I am very pleased to say that I loved the flavor. And the best part is that it is only lightly sweetened. Yes!  

There is no preservatives used and the soybean milk can stay fresh up to 5 days in the fridge. But once opened it is recommended to finish within 3 days. As far as I am concerned, once I opened a bottle, very the sorry I finish it in one go because it was so good hah..hah...hah...

Now for the piece de resistance.

The Cold Bean Curd. I regretted not buying more.

Oh dear God, so silky smooth and barely sweet, this I loved so so much! One tub is not enough. That was pure pleasure in its simplicity. No need for any embellishments (though it would be nice) as it is already so wonderful on its own.

This retails at RM5.00 per tub and my lahling's eyes would roll a few rounds in his eye sockets. But no need to tell him lah. My money, my sukak.

If you want a better deal, buy the Super Value 10 tubs at RM40.00 and you get 2 tubs free. So that averages RM3+ per tub. This auntie can sapu 4 tubs in one go.

Orders can be placed at Soybar and deliveries within designated areas in the Klang Valley (Monday to Saturday) is RM7.00 and it's free for orders above RM30.00. If you want a specific delivery date, do order at least 3 days ahead and you can put in your request upon ordering.

From my experience, the customer service is good and responsive. I requested for delivery between 10:00am and 11:00am and just after 10:00am, I got a message from the transporter with estimated time of arrival. In fact he arrived 10 minutes before ETA. That's what I appreciate - punctuality. The products are delivered via Soybar's own refrigerated truck, so you can be assured of freshness.

Since I enjoyed the soybean milk and the cold bean curd plus the fact that delivery is very efficient, I know where to get my soybean fix. This is not a paid post, ok. I just like to share good things so that you can enjoy it too.

Another plus point when enjoying soybean delights - I don't get hassled by my fatty kitty hee...hee...hee....
