Oiso, The Curve

One Friday evening, my partner wanted to get a haircut. So we went to his usual go-to barber at Tesco. Since we were at Tesco, it made sense to eat somewhere nearby.

After his haircut, we made our way to The Curve. We haven't been there for ages. We walked around to look for a place to eat and noticed that a few restaurants have closed down.

Finally we settled on Oiso which is next door to Ah Tuan Ee's Place.

Korean food for me anytime! hee..hee..hee..

After browsing the menu, we made our choices.

My choice of spicy chicken which came with rice, soup, salad, spinach and kimchi.

The chicken came sizzling hot! It was quite good. I liked the flavors, sweet, salty and spicy.

The banchan is nothing to shout about and don't expect many varieties here.

The cabbage salad is pretty standard. Edible.

My partner chose the Korean fried chicken.

He thought it was good and let me have a piece. Yup, nice!

I suppose we can come back and try some of the other items on the menu. Yay!

  1. hi PH, had oiso last weekend at Aman Central, Alor Setar. We had the spicy seafood, beef bulgogi and sardine stew (dont know the full name). I think their beef bulgogi is very nice eventhough my sister did say it tasted like daging masak kicap hahaha.

  2. I had the K fried chicken set too the previous time I ate in Oiso, Jaya33. I think I will eat that again next time. I agree with you that the banchan is quite limited.

  3. Korean! Kim chi! Eeeeeekkkk!!! I guess fried chicken would taste like...fried chicken, without all those Korean sauces.

  6. Of course I expected your partner to choose the KFC in a Korean place...like he would choose karaage don if he was in a Japanese place...hahaha! ;D Hmmm, my last visit to Oiso, I was given 3 banchan...never had two before (times must be bad that they need to cut down on the banchan types even...haiz) :(

    1. He is very predictable, right? hah.hah... If the salad is considered as a banchan, then it would be 3.

  9. Welcome on board! Now I can invite this Korean Ajunma to join Oppa TM. hee heee...
I have been crazy over Korean food for many years. Bring on.

I always salute the Korean chefs for taking great lengths to make eating very fun and tasty, the Korean way. It must be piping hot and boiling when plonked in front of us.
