Ho Min San, TTDI

My partner and I are making progress. We seem to be eating at anywhere but Damansara Uptown or 1 Utama lately hee..hee...

It was a working Saturday for me and as usual that means we eat out for dinner. "Chiak hamik?" (eat what?) he kept asking me in the car. "Em chai" (don't know) I replied. And this went on and on wahahahaha!!

Then he suggested Taman Tun Dr Ismail. Oh! I forgot. We were at Paper Fish the previous Saturday.

See. Progress I said.

We sort of drove around until we saw this.

Since there were a few parking spots, we parked and walked to Ho Min San to check their menu. Apparently, this is a noodle place and it suits us fine.

Although we could see a healthy crowd here, thankfully it was not full house and we got ourselves a table.

It took us quite some time to decide as there were quite a good number of choices on the menu. Finally we settled on these.

My partner chose the noodles with braised pork and opted for the set with drinks.

Looked pretty good.

The drink - grapefruit and passionfruit green tea. Quite refreshing but a tad too sweet.

My partner liked his noodles but the portion is a bit small for him.

It was served with a small bowl of soup. No complaints from him, so I assumed it was all right.

My order of noodles in mala soup with pork intestines and fish paste (I added pork wanton) came some 10 minutes after my partner's order was served. Yup, so slow!

I have to admit, my bowl of noodles looked really good. It was spicy hot. I was a bit concerned if I could tahan the heat. But I was all right. It was a fully loaded bowl of noodles. Not bad at all.

I added this nice dry chili condiment.

This was our side order of braised pork intestines and pig ears. It took forever to come to our table. It was a small serving although it looked so big in the menu hah...hah...

I think we can come back for more noodles. I like!

  1. If you find it spicy hot...that would mean it's too hot for me. If there's one thing I don't eat...it's pig ears! >.< P/S: That little kid is making sure your photo looks good...and that's with him in it! :D

  2. I am so embarrassed that I never noticed this restaurant. When I drive in the neighborhood, my mind often goes blank.

I really like the looks of your noodles in mala soup! It could be your luring photography skills. Muahahahaha
My China friend taught me not to drink the mala soup be it in their hotpot or noodles otherwise I might spit out flames again or down with sore throat. In China, they merely soaked the food in the mala soup and just eat them. In the end all the soup went into the drain. What a waste lah....

    1. Don't be embarrassed lah. There are some places in Damansara Uptown that I also don't notice until I read about it in other blogs.

Oh really? I had no idea the soup is not meant to be drunk. So weird! But I won't order it again.

  6. Innards!! No thanks. Hehehe.

I would choose your partner's noodle. Looked small?? Small portion for big eater like him, I guess.

  7. I had the ears too in their outlet in Midvalley. It was nicely crunchy. Since you like the food in this eatery, then the idragon-icanton group made the right decision to set up this new chain to capture another segment of the consumer market.

    1. Yes, those are boiled peanuts. Quite unusual as I have never had them with noodles.
