You know, I still eat a lot. But not as much as I used to. But by normal standards, I am still a big eater.
The other day, I ran out of ideas what to eat. Then I thought of Mitsuyado Seimen. I haven't been back there ever since they served me cold food. But I thought why not revisit and see how things are doing.
I got me a Yuzu Maze-men. I also ordered a sushi but the well meaning server informed me that there would be a lot of noodles in my first order and I should consider the sushi only after I was done. Well, he obviously doesn't know me yet.
The order came with a bottle of white vinegar, so I added a little bit and mixed it all up.
It was quite all right, there was a faint aroma of yuzu and it was quite strong on the seaweed.
Nom...nom...nom.... Not enough leh. So I summoned the young man. "I'll have the sushi, please".
What I couldn't understand was why he or the other servers did not remove my empty bowl and tray. In fact he placed the sushi platter on my right since the tray was in front of me. So I had to shift it and there it stayed till the end of my meal.
So anyway, this is the Tenari Sushi Ball A. The B has cheese while the C contains 5 pieces. I would say that the sushi was pretty good. Glad I ordered it.
Another day, I had my favorite vermicelli salad at Pho Vietz. I added a side order of Steamed Flat Rice Rolls. I don't do this all the time, only on my high carb days.
I have a story to share about these rice rolls. A few visits ago, a lady (on her own) ordered this. When the order was served to her, she remarked to the server "I want only two because I can't finish this".
The server was speechless for a while. The menu clearly illustrated that the serving consists of 4 rolls. When this was pointed out to her, she decided to cancel the order (!!!) because "I can't finish this". And with that, she upped and left. Just like that. Amazing.
Tori Katsu Curry Bento at Fujisawa@The Foodie's Nest. Look at that. I am eating as if I am bulking up like a bodybuilder. To my mother who may be alarmed why I am eating so much protein, don't worry, I don't do this everyday.

On Friday, I went to Annie 1 for the Curry Laksa Supreme. I was actually craving for a burrito but Orale opens at 12 pm and I was too hungry to wait.
The curry mee was not as good as before though there were lots of liew in the bowl.
Three hours later I was hungry again (!!!). And I finally had my chicken burrito.
Haiz.... I eat too much...
OMG!!! You really can eat more than me anytime! Good for you since you are still growing. Muahahahaha
ReplyDeletehahahaha!!! Yes, I have a big tangki!
DeleteI knew it was Pho Vietz from the first photo. I certainly wouldn't be able to eat the rice rolls after a bowl of vermicelli. But that lady...too much lah! :O If I was the server, I'd have told her, "You have to pay since you ordered it. You can eat two and we can tapau the balance two for you!" :P Is she an old lady, by the way? Coz I've seen old aunties like that...very picky and very daring! >_<
ReplyDeleteNeither would I be able to eat the curry laksa supreme (not as good as before? what happened?) and a burrito later. But on the bright side, there's an old Chinese saying..."sek tak hai fook", loosely translated...can eat is prosperity...hahaha! :D
You are right, she was an old lady hah...hah... Those uptight cranky types, pardon my expression.
DeleteI noticed that Annie 1's curry laksa is not consistent. Sometimes it is fabulous and sometimes lacking in oopmh. Eating is prosperity? I spend too much on food to prosper hah..hah...
Me too! I've toned down already but I still can eat a lot! Old habits die hard. I wish I could get a bento set like that here - looks nice!
ReplyDeleteMy late grandma was the same, she did not slow down in the appetite department!
DeleteI am a big eater like you too but i am slightly better, i get hungry only after five hours hee hee
ReplyDeletehahaha!! Yes, I noticed from your food posts that you can eat!
Deleteu hav big appetite just like me! lol! I'm amaze that the lady can just walk out without paying when the food was served...I'm not sure if there is any rule that mention "once order is served it is considered 'sold'", despite the customer not touching the food. The curry laksa is not enuff for me too, I can see a lot of 'liew' but the noodles is covered underneath the soup, so it means the noodles not alot. Btw, ur mom reads ur blog?
ReplyDeleteHigh 5! hah..hah.. That lady was very direct lah, not paiseh at all. I was quite taken aback.
DeleteYes, my mum reads my blog hah...hah...
I am like you too. Whenever I am in the eating mood, I can ate a lot. It even frightens my hubby! Lol! But now I am cutting down and need to control my appetite. But I am feeling like eating after seeing all the food pictures you have posted here!
ReplyDeletehahahaha!! I suppose over the years your hubby has got used to it. My partner is also a big eater and we can match each other in the makan department. LOL!
DeleteHahahaha, how could she cancel her order when it has been prepared and served to her? she should bring a container to take the balance home. how old is she? very thick skin and unreasonable.
ReplyDeleteYa lah, I was quite taken aback by her behavior. She is an elderly lady, those uptight troublesome types, excuse me haha...
DeleteI want to eat two spoonfuls of everything that you ate cos they are so yummy! That is what I do if I have a partner to eat with else I keep half into my containers.
ReplyDeleteYou eat like a little bird hee..hee...
DeleteI like to try a bit of everything too, PH! My friends used to say.. I have wide eyes but small mouth... Everything I see I wanna eat but cannot take in much!
ReplyDeleteYou have a small appetite which is a good thing :)
DeleteI am quite a big eater too. I do my best to balance it out by exercising every day.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I try to do that too as best I can hee...hee...
DeleteChinese saying says, one kind of rice, raise hundred kind of people, there are many types of people out there, especially weird one and they don't think themselves are weird, LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm considered a big eater too but 2 bowl of sizable ramen + a few sushi is too much for me :P
LOL! No, I only had one bowl of ramen. Two bowls too much lah.
