Brunch at The Embassy

I like this place. The Embassy@The Starling. It's located same row as Mr Tuk Tuk which is always hustling and bustling in contrast to this place which is mostly sedate and quiet.

I have been here before and I decided to come back to see how they are doing. Besides I had craving for the Big Breakfast.

I see that they still serve water on the house. Wonderful.

The Big Breakfast. A nice big piece of toast with two sunny side up eggs accompanied by the usual suspects of hash browns, beef bacon, tomato, mushrooms, chicken sausage and baked beans.

It was very filling and very decent. I would have this again.

Then on my next visit I wanted the Madame Secretary which is a fried chicken burger. But I was disappointed when the server returned and informed me that the kitchen had only just started to defrost the chicken and if I would care to order something else. I guess I was too early for the secretary.

So I settled for the Nasi Ayam Percik.

It was a very princely serving, thumbs up. Now for the taste.

Not bad at all, although I have eaten better ayam percik. But still, this was commendable.

The mango kerabu was not outstanding but the sambal belacan packed a suitable punch. Loved it and wished I could have more. There is even half a salted duck egg.

This is another decent place that does not ask you for cash. I'll be back as I want an audience with the Madame Secretary.

Check out the menu.

  2. Too many good food to try in the Starling Mall so this place will go into the list to try one day. Payment method wise this wins over Red Kettle but how about the taste of the big breakfast? who wins?

    1. Although Red Kettle's big breakfast is fancier, this one wins hands down.

  3. I like quieter place to enjoy my food. Not too noisy with crowds and loud music.

Sound like you have found a good place to have breakfast and lunch.

  4. I saw this outlet few times and the name terrified me a bit that it could be pricey like those fancy Embassy restaurants along Jalan Ampang & Jalan U-Thant.

Oh come on, you should be ordering a Madame Chairman meal to justify your status. They will probably assign a butler to serve you on hand & foot with Perrier Water instead. So you had a Nasi Ayam Percik there. The menu sounds like a variety of fusion choices.

  8. Madame Secretary at the embassy... wow, nowadays the names sound very canggih and official like for a makan place and in the menu... as TM said, they should have a Mdm Chairman or Chairwoman meal... LOL...

    1. Nowadays, I prefer smaller portions so that I don't feel so stuffed.

  11. The ayam percik doesn't quite look like ayam percik to me (at least not the ones I've had before) where the sauce is more orangey in colour. This one is so dark coloured that I thought it was ayam rendang initially. I do love a good ayam percik with lovely panggang marks...hihihi! ;)
