Parmesan Potato Chips Cookies

What do you think of crushed potato chips mixed into cookie batter to produce a fusion of potato chips and cookies? Crazy? Not a bad idea actually.

I have read about potato chip cookies but never took them seriously until I spotted Kimmy's. I was really curious what it would be like to eat a cookie and potato chips at the same time. But I was iffy about the parmesan cheese although I found the cheese quite pleasing here

So I set forth and baked these cookies. Once baked, the smell of the cheese and butter was really nice. When the cookies were cool enough, I tried one.

It was not love at first bite but as I chewed, the taste grew on me. And it got better and better and I wanted to eat more and more. But of course I had to stop as these were meant to be given away.

I baked another batch a few days later. Well, that batch was also given away and unfortunately for me, most of it went into the two canisters which meant there was none to spare for me.

Since I haven't had enough of these cheesy cookies, I shall bake me another batch real soon.

  3. I am really curious how the potato chips fare in the cookies but I love to eat parmesan cheese so I guess I would love the taste of these cookies as long as they have parmesan cheese in them. Can you feel the texture of the potato chips in the cookies?

    1. The cookies are crunchy so I guess you can't tell the presence of potato chips from the texture but from the taste.

  4. Since you use sour cream & onion flavored potato chips, can you taste the sour cream and onion flavor when it is in the cookies? Can other flavored potato chips be used?

    1. Yes, can taste. And yes, other flavors can also be used eg BBQ.

  5. Who would have thought you could put Pringles potato chips in cookies! Sour cream and onion remains a top favourite Pringles flavour of mine :)

  6. Whoa! Another magical baking from your brilliance and I am convinced that they tasted addictive and good to go with my TV. But wait....you were so kind to bake and give away until deprived yourself. Unbelievable lah! As usual I didn't get my share and you would say _ "I knew you would say this again...blah blah blah..."

BTW this morning I woke up early and took out the refrigerated & overnight-marinated chicken meat with all the generous turmeric, salt & etc. Kwang-Kwang-Kwang I fried and fried my first trial with so much smoke spewing to my neighborhood. I took a first bite and went to heavens! It was so so delicious! Thank you!

  15. You, my friend are so energetic, and creative, I can't get enough of your unusual and yummy recipes! I Google+ 'd these crunchy, crispy addictive cookies...instead of eating a bag of 'sour cream &onion flavored potato chips, which happen to be my fave, you put them into the batter of the cookies and add parmesan, and sugar...the combo is sheer 'heaven'!

  16. Bet my girl will love this but too bad about the flour - not gluten free, she loves the parmesan crisps that I got from the US from an ex-student of mine.
