Scary or what? Well, it's not lard per se but pork belly chunks.
But it was labeled as "pork lard".
Arranged on my trusty perforated tray and cooked in the air fryer at 180C for 16 minutes.
Just out from the air fryer.
I added kimchi, sauerkraut and pickles.
The extra fats that dripped onto the pyrex cover (under the perforated metal tray) was kept to use as cooking oil.
Good morning! I love pork belly especially pork belly buns but try not to take them too often. Have a good work day ahead.
ReplyDeletePork belly is my favorite cut of pork and I simply love it.
DeleteGood 👍 to use the extra fats as cooking oil. Healthier than commercial processed mixed oil from many ingredients. So weird, why they label pork belly as pork lard. In jaya grocer, the pork lard is just all fats, no meat at all.
ReplyDeleteYes, at Hanks (Jaya Grocer) they also sell pure pork fat. I bought those and made chee yau char hee..hee..
DeleteWhen I saw your post title, I actually thought you were going to have pork lard for dinner (so, I wondered how much will be enough...hee..hee). So, no....it was just very fatty pork belly. Still scary! :D
ReplyDeleteLOL! Scary for you but yummy for me!
DeletePork lard is much more cheaper than pork belly, so it's good that you can accept the fatty pork belly and at the same time save the cost too, haha!
ReplyDeleteI have also bought bought pork lard and air fry until crispy and eat. LOL!
