Carb Day 13# : Common Feed, Damansara Utama

Well, I visited Common Feed not too long ago and I came back for the focaccia. It's carb day! hah..hah..hah...

Here's the location again. Very easy to find, right next to Damansara Uptown Hokkien Mee.

I visited slightly past 11:00am when it was nice and quiet. So I was able to take some photos of the interior.

The menu as I discovered earlier is not very extensive but there is enough variety.

It is just a one page menu printed on both sides. All items are available at lunch except for the pizzas which are served only from 6:00pm onwards.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I was disappointed that coffee is limited to Drip Coffee and Cold Brew

I had my mind on the Roast Beef Focaccia and with this order I get a complimentary Iced Lemon Tea.

The Iced Lemon Tea was served in a small tumbler with a slice of lemon. And as I experienced previously, this drink is not sweet at all which is perfect for me.

Now. What roast beef? The menu said Roast Beef Focaccia. Instead what I got was beef salami. They should change the description on the menu then.

What can I say? I thought it was a good sandwich because I enjoyed it. But it would have been awesome had it been roast beef instead of salami. I guess salami is more practical for the restaurant.

Not only did I have a sandwich, I also had dessert hee..hee..
Tiramisu! But I'm afraid the Tiramisu was "watery". The lady fingers were soggy. Tiramisu is an easy dessert to make. In fact I have a nice Tiramisu recipe here.

When dipping the lady fingers in coffee, dip and take it out immediately because it is very absorbent. Too long (even a few more seconds) and it would soak up too much coffee and  become soggy, which was what (I think) happened to Common Feed's Tiramisu

I foresee myself coming back to Common Feed again to try other sandwiches or even pasta. But no more meat dishes from the mains (too expensive). I envision the beef short ribs to be just one rib with scant meat on it.

I spotted Gambas Al Ajilo on the sharing menu and I can tell you (if it is as awesome as the one at Marta's Kitchen) it is a dish NOT to be shared wahahahaha!!!

  3. That crusty-looking sandwich is making me drool...and yes, I'd prefer roast beef too. You should highlight to them that the menu description and what you got was different.

    1. Yes, I will do that on my next visit. There is also a roast lamb version that's on my wishlist and if what is served is processed lamb, then I'll speak up. LOL!
