Cheaper Lunch

Yesterday I was wondering, what to eat? It had to be carnivore compliant since I had carbs three times last week. Tsk!

Which begs the question, which would I be willing to restrict? Coffee or carbs? Which has nothing to do with my recent carb (over) indulgence.

Well, between coffee and carbs, I choose to sacrifice carbs. Or rather I will limit carbs. Won't forgo entirely since I admit to loving carbs. Coffee? Ah! Cannot! Cannot! I love coffee! hah..hah..hah...

So.

I visited Restoran Yu Yiee after dropping off my mum's lunch. At the chicken rice stall, I asked for char siew (no sauce) and siew yoke. It was RM10.00, so I asked to add more siew yoke which cost me an additional RM4.00.

All this for RM14.00.

The siew yoke was on the lean side while their char siew is fabulously fatty (as always).

One uncle came to take order for drinks and since I was thirsty, I got me a kopi O ais kosong (RM2.90). The kopi O was very nice.

On my way back to Damansara Utama, I came upon my old friend.

Oh, hello you!

The mascot of O'Muffin, Damansara Jaya. I must drop by for a muffin on one of my carb days.

Of course I had to sit down and sayang-sayang my friend for a session of cat therapy. I can't describe the joy that I felt at that moment. Ah... cats!

Soon I had to say bye-bye. Hope to bump into you again my friend!

Back at Damansara Utama, I passed by this side lane which used to be where The Good Batch was located.

Renovations are underway for a new eatery.

This place is so golden-golden.

Even the "weeds" are golden which reminded me of Sting's Fields of Gold.

A Chinese place called Luck Farm. Well, you know how it is with we Chinese - luck, prosperity, abundance, wealth - you get the drift.

I had my partner read the Chinese words and he said it is a restaurant specializing in dishes from a certain province in China. Ah well, I have tried restaurants run by people from mainland China but the food was not quite to my taste.

So good luck, Luck Farm. I'll drop by again to check their menu once they are up and running.

  2. The Chinese restaurant place looks so inviting with the golden colour but I am not into Chinese mainland food as I find them too oily and spicy.

    1. It has a very China vibe and I wonder how it would be received. There are a few China type restaurants in my area but I have yet to venture there due to the taste not ngam me.

  3. That mascot reminds me of Belle2. Ya, being the cat lovers that we are, we want to pat every cat we meet...lol! Ya, there seems to be a mushrooming of China-type cuisine here...and, like you, I also don't fancy China food all that much...they're usually too spicy and oily for my liking (as Libby said).

    1. Ah, yes, there is some resemblance to Belle2. I fall in love every time I see a cat. Haiz! I discovered another China food restaurant nearby and from the menu, some dishes are the more familiar ones like pork with mui choy.

  4. Me three! As cat lovers, I always go visit the stray cats in my neighborhood and say hello to them. There is a black and white resident cat near the old folks' home in my neighborhood. Not sure if it is a male or female I call it "blackie". Blackie will mew at me when I approached it to pat it. Talking about cat therapy hee hee (instead of retail therapy).

    1. Good morning! I am very pleased to learn that you are trying my way of eating. I do hope that you will regain your health and weight again. Do look up Dr Ken Berry, The Steak and Butter Gal and Homesteadhow (there are many more) on Youtube to learn how the ketogenic/carnivore diet has helped many people recover from chronic illnesses.
