My lahling celebrated his birthday recently. A day before his birthday, I took him to Luck Farm, Damansara Utama for dinner.
My lahling is the sort of person who prefers to have rice for dinner, so the best place to take him to is a Chinese restaurant. None of that Italian nonsense, that's for sure hah..hah...
We arrived at the restaurant just before 6:00pm when there were still many tables available. It always pays to be early.
After we were seated, the menu was brought to us as well as a plate of peanuts. My lahling loves peanuts hee...hee...
My lahling let me do the ordering, so these were the dishes that I chose.
This is the Stone Fried Pork Ribs. It is a very attractive looking dish with strips of corn, a generous sprinkling of crunchy chickpeas, sliced chilies and crinkle cut fries with deep fried marinated pork ribs underneath.
This is a dryish dish (hardly any gravy) and I found the spice seasoning on the very meaty pork ribs to be a bit strong.
The meat was tender and could be easily separated from the bone. I requested for less spicy (therefore less chilies) for my partner's benefit.
This Homemade Eggplant came all bubbly with loads of gravy. The servers waited for me to snap a photo before using a pair of scissors to cut the eggplants.
The portion size here is big and we ordered one too many. Two dishes for us would be just nice (perhaps with an order of skewers). Suffice to say, we were stuffed.
As the evening progressed, more and more people came through the door. I believe and hope that Luck Farm will do well and have staying power.
This time a ball came out with the number 10. The cashier added on another 10 to make my next redemption 20 skewers. Wah!
My partner enjoyed the dinner and he was very impressed with the service and quality of the dishes. He told me that we will come back on my birthday. Yes, of course!
Good morning! Wishing you and me, have a wonderful day ahead. Yes, 3 dishes with rice and the skewers are a little too much for you and your partner as the portions look big. But at least now that you know, next visit you and your family or you alone can adjust the ordering accordingly. Nonetheless, good that you and your partner enjoyed the meal though.
ReplyDeleteGood morning! Thank you for your wishes. We had an enjoyable meal and we now know to just order only two dishes LOL!
DeleteA very delicious dinner to celebrate your partner's birthday ππ happy belated birthday to your partner!
ReplyDeleteOk, another restaurant for me to try, writing it down on my list. Thank you for trying out the dishes and reviewing them ππ
Have a good week and happy daily walking! Weather is rainy now so please be careful when walking π π
Thank you for the belated birthday wish. I hope you get to visit this restaurant. You will have to bring your container to tapau extras since you and your hubs are small eaters.
DeleteI can imagine the dry spices being too strong. That's why this type of food, too spicy & flavourful, does not suit me so well. The saucy eggplant dish does look very appetising. I'm surprised to find that your partner enjoys wine chicken coz not many lelaki likes Chinese wine (like my husband & son...lol). And if they do their dishes very flavourful here, I can imagine the wine they use will be a lot and strong (that even I can't take).
ReplyDeleteSurprisingly the wine in the soup was not as strong as I had hoped LOL! I thought it was mild but prominent enough. I had no idea that (most) Chinese men are not partial to Chinese wine hah..hah...
Deleteplease call me along when you redeem your 20 skewers...I'll help you to finish them, LOL! The portion indeed huge.
ReplyDeletehappy belated birthday to your partner!
Can! Can! LOL! Thank you for the belated birthday wish.
DeleteWow so fast second visit, bravo! I think the chicken pot alone is enough for both of you (to be eaten with rice), perhaps plus those 16 skewers. Hehe.
ReplyDeleteThat shows you how much I love the food hee..hee.. hee.. There will be more visits from time to time.
