Carb Day #7 : Hot Like Hell

Walking from Damansara Utama to Damansara Jaya and back takes something like 40 minutes, approximately 20 minutes each way.

It also involves climbing the overhead bridge to cross the highway. In the current scorching hot weather, it can be quite punishing. And I am not exaggerating.

By the time I get to my brother's house, I am soaked in sweat. After dropping off mum's chap fan and newspaper, I make my way back to Damansara Utama.

That day it was rubbish collection day. The road is narrow and made worse when cars park on both sides.

So I waited for the garbage truck to move before I continued walking.

Earlier in the morning (about 4:00am), Girl came inside. Look at her.

Looking for ma's attention.

My fatty bom bom. Don't worry. Ma loves you to bits!

Back to my hot day. I was hungry and sweating buckets when I reach The Starling. The moment I entered the mall, the blast of cold air was so inviting.

I had to give myself a treat. Excuses!

Ahhhhh.....

Big Breakfast with request for no salad and no corn.

I went for the eggs first.

Then sausage, bacon and ham. Quite honestly, I don't like their ham. It's dry, too lean.

I love the mushrooms and the roasted veggies.

I transferred the French toast to the side plate for enjoyment later.

The French toast was very good, well soaked in eggs. The texture was very custardy. Very nice with butter and drizzled with honey. So sinful heh...heh...

I was suitably stuffed and after paying (the cashier asked me "can finish?" LOL!) I went for my usual mall walk.

  1. Good morning! It is raining in SG for goodness sake, it is scorching hot the past few days too. Ahhh looks at Ah Girl. You just cannot help but to love her. When I eat my chicken sausage patty breakfast platter at Long John Silver I also ate my French toast the last.

  2. Yesterday for dinner, I had brown sauce (mushroom sauce) chicken chop with one bun, coleslaw and french fries, I opt out the french fries and asked it to be replaced by one bun. So it makes a total of 2 buns. This Abang serving me is nicer so I asked for an extra bun and he acceded to my request so in the end there were 3 buns. I dipped the buns into the brown sauce and coleslaw sauce to eat and they were warm, tasty and a little "crispy". A very satisfying dinner. Costs S$7.50.

    1. It's good when they can accommodate our request to exchange items. I used to like dipping buns in KFC mashed potatoes.

  3. The cashier obviously underestimated you...lol! :D Perhaps next time you can ask if you can substitute the ham with more bacon to see if they're willing. I would not walk 40 mins in the scorching sun, I'd rather take a cab if I were you.

    1. The servers who are used to me know my capacity. LOL! Well, 5 times a week, 2 ways per trip would mean extra costs. So I'll walk and treat it as part of my workout hah...hah...

The big breakfast looks so good. It has been a while since the last time I ate it. 😋

    1. I'll choose the other breakfast items in future since I don't like the ham.
