Oh yes, the food is still very good at Hotpot1 @ The Starling. I revisited not too long ago and I had to have one of my favorites, the Chaipu Chicken.
Because I was very hungry, I added a side dish of yam cake.
It was a public holiday so this was to be expected. These people are unperturbed by the Tang dynasty prices.
Red Kettle was also doing very good business. This place is always busy. The food is just all right to me and rather pricey. And yet, people come. I guess it is a nice place to hangout with family and friends.
Elsewhere, the spot vacated by Seafood Dynasty remains frozen in time.
Nam Heong as I may have mentioned in an earlier post has shut its doors. I won't miss it and I am glad that Pho Vietz is still going strong.
Here she is having some snacks. She already had breakfast but came back whining for some munchies. I gave her a little bit (just to stop her from whining) but I have to exercise more control over her eating habits.
Girl is so round! So cute!
ReplyDeletehah..hah..hah... I must put her on a diet!
DeleteThe chicken looks nice, nice colours! Yes, I am amazed as to how some places, even here, are enjoying such good business even though everything is so expensive. I would much sooner go elsewhere and settle for something less - reserve for special occasions perhaps.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, people are making up for lost time. They saved quite a bit not eating out and now they are out with a vengeance. LOL!
DeleteSince there's still some restriction on the travelling, people are willing to spend their money on food, that' y why all those luxury premium meal such as Omakase or fine dining always fully booked or crowded.
ReplyDeleteThe F&B industry must be very pleased with this effect. I see Tang Room practically busy even on normal work days.
DeleteAh, I see your hotpot is different from Choi Yen's today....hehehe. That chaipu chicken looks almost like kung pao chicken with its dried chillies and onions. Yeah, a lot of places are seeing good crowds these days because of revenge dining (in) perhaps? LOL! P/S: Yes, I can see how fatty bom bom she is coz from the side view, I can see her belly touching the floor already....hah..hah.
ReplyDeleteThe chaipu chicken is very fragrant from the dried chilies and curry leaves. I still haven't figured out why it is called "chaipu chicken". Oh yes, I see restaurants packed during lunch time. Good for the proprietors, they can earn back what they lost. Haiz, my Girl is a bit out of control. She seem hungry all the time but I have imposed some restrictions.
DeleteWah, your meal looked yummy. Even the yam cake. Hehe. You are back to your old food hunting ground, is The Starling??
ReplyDeleteYes, that was at The Starling foodcourt, my favorite hangout. LOL!
DeleteAh, the joy of dining in. I still set next year to dine in. Lolx! Hahahaha Girl's belly is touching the floor already. Can call her Bulat now. 😆
ReplyDeleteYou are staying safe and that is good. LOL! Girl is very bulat :D
DeleteThe chicken looks delicious and I can see lots of yam cubes in the yam cake. Wah! From behind Girl looks so rounded. That shows she is well taken care of by mommy.
ReplyDeleteIt's very tasty and fragrant, the chicken and that yam cake has lots of yam content. Girl is overfed by mommy. LOL!
