Lockdown Day #7 : What A Lousy Day

Today is not a good day for me. I woke up at 2:00 am and could not go back to sleep. Then at 4:00 am, Ah Girl (who appointed herself as my alarm clock) started meowing and scratching at my door.

So I got up, feeling groggy and low in energy. So blah the feeling.... After freshening myself up, I went downstairs to feed my two kiddos and made coffee. Then it was scooping the litter box and after a few more chores and warm ups, I went for a walk.

I had no energy but I still walked for 40 minutes. At least I can say I exercised today.

Last night Belle Belle misbehaved. She went upstairs and hid herself, refusing to come out. So I attempted to pull her out from her cosy space and she tried to bite me. Wah! Mommy got very angry.

I removed some of the furniture, caught hold of her and carried her downstairs, all the while lecturing and scolding her. I angrily told her that if she ever bit me, she will be banished from the house and she can never come back. I was so mean to Belle Belle

Then I tossed her into her cage. Of course I felt bad afterwards. She looked so adorable while she was sleeping. But we made up today where she kept following me in the garden. Sorry Belle Belle. Mommy loves you so much but sometimes mommy loses her temper.

My low energy mood did not improve after the walk. So I told myself I will keep things simple for today. Just relax.

I made some more bone broth (simmered for many hours in the slow cooker since yesterday).

These come in very handy when cooking soup.

Today's simple lunch. Wraps!

My other brother gave me prawns in exchange for these ....

... during Chinese New Year. Nice exchange, no?

I pan fried some of the prawns with Cajun seasoning.

These went into the wraps with some salad leaves, sliced tomatoes, onions and a drizzle of Thousand Island Dressing and chili sauce. No photos of the wrapped wrap because I couldn't wrap them due to the generous filling hee..hee...

After lunch I tried to do some work but became very, very sleepy (because I did not sleep well last night) but something woke me up.

I clicked on TM's Blog and one thing led to another. I had such a good laugh that I wasn't sleepy anymore.

These were among his old posts that woke me up :

There were more but they are like PG 13 rating so I dare not link here hah..hah...

I also dare not read the spooky stories (not today) because I need to sleep tonight.

    1. Since you mentioned freezer, I ought to buy extra wraps and freeze them so that I can have at any time I want. I can't wait to see your prawns with wraps hee..hee..

  2. OMG! OMG! You really could dig old and forgotten graves. I have totally no idea I could write those. I think they have all evaporated into thin air besides that Fable Frog who took his life. Now I can categorize many from the Muscle Mary's gang.

This lockdown period is giving me sleepless nights too because the BU8 big gym near your home is closed. I became restless and awake at midnight. Maybe I should go for long walks after dinner until your lorong! Hihihihi I will say hello to belle belle and Ah Girl. Tell them not to make mummy angry!

  4. Wouldn't you "bite" too if someone pulled you out from your comfy space? Lol. We have to be careful as pets do bite and we don't really understand what triggers it but I read that reprimanding them is not the solution as that will only make them fear us (and lead to more bites). Cats (like babies) are always adorable when they're sleeping (and don't kacau us when we want some down time).

Prawns in exchange for cookies is certainly a nice exchange. The prawns have been in your freezer since Feb? :O Those mission wraps, do you need to toast them first before eating? How long can they last in the fridge? I don't usually buy or eat wraps.

    1. Of course I would bite and throw a few punches too hah..hah.. But she has to go into her cage and I try to maintain that routine. She is stubborn but I find that she seems to understand that I was upset. Or that's just my imagination. LOL!

Those prawns were still reasonably fresh. Those wraps it is better to heat them up before eating. Very easy only, just heat up your non-stick pan and place the wrap on the pan till it is heated. It makes the wrap more pliable and also removes the "raw" smell. The packaging says to refrigerate once opened and to consume within 3 days or freeze for 3 months.

  5. I feel you, not enough sleep is such a bad feeling, will feel like having no energy at all. Once in a while, I will get sleepless nights, wake up and cannot go back to sleep again. Is it possible to steal some nap in the afternoon perhaps, since you are working from home?

I understand how you feel, after seeing how adorable Belle Belle looks when she is sleeping, you feel sorry for beinng angry with her and scolding her. It is like a love hate relationship, lolol!

Both the prawns and cookies I also want! I am so greedy.

    1. Somehow I am not able to sleep in the afternoon even though I am tired. The only time I can is when I am sick and on medication. LOL!!

  6. When our sleep is disturbed, we become moody. Worse still, having to deal with misbehaving kids. Lol! Possibly Belle also having a bad day and not in good mood, that is why she bit you. You made nice wraps and I love the fillings with so many prawns. I love wraps.

    1. Very true, it can really spoil the mood! I love wraps too but 8 in a packet is too many for me. Have to eat over a few days.
